An investigator did a study (I wish I could remember his name,) about missing ships and the various ominous triangles. Turns out, once all the records for lost ships were collated and their locations mapped, one could use that data to define a great many "triangles," often overlapping and covering almost 100 percent of all the shipping lanes and/or high ship traffic areas. What's more, many of these "triangles" were deadlier than either of the currently famous ones. The main point of this, is this is just another case of people inventing ideas and theories, based on supernatural magic, rather than simply accept that pilots made errors, storms caused losses and all events were completely natural and founded in science. not some kind of supernatural interaction. The Bermuda triangle, made famous by a missing squadron of fighters, using navigation equipment known to be error prone, who claimed by radio to be in the Bermuda Triangle, but now lost, disappeared. The planes were found, eventually. They had flown off course because of the kinetic navigation equipment, flown well outside of the Bermuda Triangle and ditched, when they ran out of fuel. So, even though this most famous of the Bermuda Triangle anecdotes, used to support the supernatural nonsense theories, was debunked, many supporters of the "Bermuda Triangle is a supernatural portal theory," keep bringing it up as proof. There have been many cases of a "Bermuda Triangle" disappearances getting solved and debunked, proving nothing supernatural. Interestingly, these "triangles" seem to be worse in places where the currents tend to create more than an average number of tropical storms and extremely rough seas. There are no supernatural locations of danger. Just locations that are more dangerous than others, due to natural forces.

rogue troughs...its a reverse rogue wave...except its even worse. they are much more rare but not that uncommon really. it can cause a boat to literally slam on the bottom. or just founder when the wave breaks over them. the sudden drop just wrecks the crew and their ability to do anything,,like having the floor drop out from under you..being in an airplane in a nose dive. then you slam on the bottom of the wave..or ocean floor...just that can wreck the boat. then you got the peak of the wave crashing down on ya. boats just disapear with out a trace.

I'm surprised nobody considered this: the region of the Bermuda Triangle and the Devil's Sea are regions where the ocean currents make a sharp turn from one direction to another. As such, this can result in sudden, violent changes in weather and ocean conditions, which can result in losses of airplanes and ships. (Indeed, one corner of the Bermuda Triangle, located on the east coast of Florida near Miami, is known for the sudden appearance of violent thunderstorms in summer.)

Yuan staging points were in northern China and Korea, even for ships that came from Southern China. Then they landed in Kyushu. That means they didn't have to go into the Devil's Triangle.

I can't speak for air incidents but I spent a couple years sailing in and around the Bermuda Triangle with instruments like SINS (Ships Inertial Navigation), LORAN (Radio Navigation), SATNAV (Satellite Navigation), Gravity Meter, Magnetometer as well as SONAR bottom mapping gear. In that time the oddest thing that happened was that the gear worked exceptionally well that entire time :) That said a storm could form in no time, you can go from glass smooth seas to a severe storm with radically high seas and I suspect at least for the ships this is what took them out, in the time we sailed the area there were two commercial ships lost without a sign. I suspect it is the same for this other triangle, just weather and seas, no evil spirits or ET.

A quick google search shows that the whole idea of the "Devil's Sea" was made up in 1974 by an American author. The Kaiyo No. 5 was sent to study undersea volcanic eruptions and it was sunk by one. Also the Mongol invasions came eastward from Korea and the Chinese coast, going nowhere near the supposed triangle.

I'd be willing to support the electromagnetic disturbance theory minus the portals to other dimensions and aliens in it. Strong electromagnetic disturbances can alter the color of the sky and water explaining the green haze, it can cause malfunctions in mechanical devices such as engines explaining the disappearance of planes and submarines, it can cause visual hallucinations, and can even change the weather conditions due to over heating or rapidly cooling the atmosphere. Electromagnetic disturbance of the magnitude we are talking about could easily cause a ship full of people to be so disoriented that they disappear while the ship remains perfectly intact.
