Intro ( main question)
Shadow, a great hero, the guy who defeated Titan, the hero who freed hundreds, if not thousand of worlds from extinction and destruction caused by Titan. But you might have heard that shadow is one of the bosses in shadow fight 3. Some people assume that he's the main antagonist of the game, however he isn't. But he is still fought as an enemy boss. If you read some articles about what happened after the end of shadow fight 2, you can find that Shadow killed May, and then became a tyrant, who is searching for his own descendant, so that he can exterminate him. But how did Shadow go from an honorable hero to an brutal murderer and tyrant? And is he actually evil as it seems?
Back story from sf2 ( defeat of titan, how may and shadow started a happy life )
If you completed Shadow Fight 2, and seen the end screen of the game, you probably know that after defeating Titan, Shadow starts a happy life with May. You also might have noticed a dark shadow following them behind. It turns out to be shadow energy that remained with shadow even after defeating Titan. It will play a crucial role in the further story.
Before sf3 ( birth of a descendant , death of May )
After some time, Shadow and May's child is born. However ... it turns out, that he also has a sentient entity of pure shadow energy, that's quite powerful. For some reason ( devs needed to make another part of the game with a dramatic plot ), Shadow feels that this sentient is dangerous and in order to protect May, he starts attacking it. He probably thought May was in danger and under stress concluded it would be the best action to do. However, it wasn't going to hurt anyone and instead started protecting May from Shadow. And because Shadow tried to attack pure energy, which is impossible to destroy, the damage was done to May and she died ( look I know that you think this story is weird, but that's what it is ).
Beginning of SF3 ( what shadow wants in aftermath )
Shadow didn't want to acknowledge his mistake and instead blamed his own descendant for things that happened. He could only separate the shadow mind that was in the descendant from the descendant himself. For whatever reason it's then believed that descendant is dead, however it isn't true. And shadow hates the descendant so much that he is ready to kill him or her ( it depends on what gender the player chose ).
What's next ( how things unfold )
The story of Shadow fight 3 is so long, that it requires a video of its own. Probably two long videos. But what exactly happens to Shadow ? I'll try to retell as quick as possible. Most important event is cleansing - creation of new world and destruction of the current one. Or at least that's what Shadow wanted it to be. Why however? Well, he wanted May to be alive again. Although, he doesn't realize that shadow mind can't be destroyed and the new world can't be created as he wants without taking control of Shadow mind. Later, Shadow will find out that his cleansing is ineffective and the real villain of the game was all the time near everybody and nobody suspected that he wanted to have world domination... Not only the real villain takes control of the shadow mind, but he also turns out to be "the real shadow descendant" and the copy of the descendant is the player. So Shadow is desperate, and May tells him that the real descendant is the one who tries to save the world and Shadow must help his descendant to guess what? To defeat his own descendant! And eventually the descendant who is played by player defeats the evil one, becomes a shadow god, the world is destroyed and descendant decides how to make the world again. ( Everything in this video is in fact a tiny proportion of the actual story of the game. Nekki really took it personally when people said shadow fight 2 was too quick to complete )

I want to point the detail, that he wasn't that honorable warrior. He was tyrant before, and very cruel person. If look at backstory, then you can see, that he was cruel person, that destroyed entire armies just to find an enemy. His life was mostly war, and the reason why he opened The Gates of Shadows, is that he searched those who can give him a match. So, yep. And only May was able to lead him to good actions, and in the end, because of her, Shadow changes, and decides to save her and kill Titan. So, in conclusion, he was vulnerable before, and giving the fact, that May was the only one who completely changed his life, I can understand why he was very disappointed and angry.

Unrelated to the lore but I think Shadow Fight 3 shouldn't have had 3D graphics. The graphic style of Shadow Fight 2 was unique and cool and they should have stuck with that. (also the story is really damn complicated and hard to comprehend)

yeah, 3d in fact looks nearly the same as 2d, you can't walk to sides or explore locations ( which would be cool ) story thing is absolutely true, I wouldn't mind a long story but here progress is so slow that you just lose interest in the game itself

When Moria started levitating and bringing shadow mind to the accelerator core, i had a sudden flashback of 2 moments from sf2. First one was what Widow told to Shadow during Interlude when she said "Titan has been leading you from the very beginning. Pulling your strings like puppet master. Even now, you do as he wishes, " and Shroud's words before he became nutritious. "All the world share the same fate, their own destruction. Titan saves them by taking them under his iron fist".

We have to remember that Shadow isn't a good guy, he opened the gates of shadows for a selfish reason; just to find a worthy battle. He isn't a good guy at heart, his alignment only changed after facing consequences. Although he is strong, he isn't very smart.

he attacked shadow energy because he was in possession of it for so long that he knew how dangerous it would be if someone is infected from it and from his experience of being in shadow form for so long he presumed that attacking shadow energy will defeat it however his experience betrayed him causing him to kill may by accident he never wanted to go tyrant but it's the fear of losing a loved one that forced him to do so and when he saw that his actions of protection backfired he became a tyrant and swore to destroy everything it's not the plot it's the fear of losing loved one that made him tyrant

nah, it's entirely developers' mistake at plot development devs failed to make a good plot transition, they show how shadow lost his mind because of the presence of shadow mind and then they later tell that only shadow, may and descendant are immune to shadow mind's side effects

I was very disappointed with the ending of shadow fight 3 I really liked that at the end of the shadow fight series, Shadow and May meet once again and this time live a good life for the rest of their lives. ​@@adamoleksak3528 aftermath is quite vague according to the game "the descendant got the shadow mind and creates the new world, which needs new heroes" which means descendant decides what will happen to characters. no one knows for sure what he'll decide, but according to the plot, we can guess he loves may as his mom, and he doesn't have a bad relation with his dad, Shadow, as well as with other characters. Hence he probably will let everyone live as before sf3 so your point is quite close to reality, with the only difference between the past: descendant gaining insane powers

Shades continue sf2 and it's out but what happens in the ending? To know what happens to shadow and if the shadow final boss in sf3 is the one in sf2 and shades (sf5) How did shadow became demon and his eyes are blue? What happened to may sensei Lynx... The story is shadow still alive in sf3 if he's the same Shadow hero or he's dead? Sf6 complete all of this or there won't be? First of all, Shadow at the time of sf3 is ridiculously old and probably survived that long due to shadow energy at the end of sf2 he was over 30 for sure. He was a strong warrior and opened the gates after 20, became a "shadow", spent a lot of time grinding with bosses and in Titan's world he spent quite some time. After sf2, a long story of him fighting with other enemies occur ( as it's stated in shadow fight shades ). So he's over 40 at that point. He then lives happily with May for a short time, until Shadow mind appears. He then goes to a king of the future "legion" and finds the faction with him. King has a daughters. Shadow is around 50 at this point. Over 20 years pass, Shadow disappears at the age of 70-80, leaving his young student Galen. This Galen Guy at the beginning of sf3 is old enough to be a grandpa. Also Bolo is around 30 at the time shadow disappears, and at the beginning of sf3 he is close to 80-100. So you can assume Shadow to be close to 150 if not over that age mark if shadow is that old, sly and sensei definitely died due to old age

okay, that probably deserves a video of its own but to cut it short: 1. proximus is usually someone who comes close to the state of an ancient ( as stated in sf3 lore ). So it's a general term, and the player was called this way, since at the end of sf3 he falls into the category of someone who approaches the state of an ancient 2. The player in the start is a copy of a young stranger. Stranger started traveling in time, and each time he left a copy of himself at the moment. Although his copies were not always similar to him in terms of character traits 3. Stranger is actually the original Shadow's descendant. Very first, the original one. All the rest ( including the player ) resulted appearing after his time travels. However May says any of his copies can be considered him, and which one is real is up to you. But technically stranger is the original descendant, since no one from "shadow's descendants" ( including the player ) don't remember their pasts, their childhood, upbringing etc. except for the Stranger.
