I personally don't watch the Olympics. It was her decision and she has the right to decide what is best for herself. I support that 100%. I, personally would not and do not call her a quitter in any form or fashion. Good video topic! Ride and stay safe Nooga Cowboy!

Enjoyed your discourse...you brought up some good points about being civil to someone who may simply have a legitimate question about a matter/subject without try to create any kind of ruckus with non-intended (or perceived) side issues.

I like that you try to see both sides, not many people do that. It’s sad that people just jump to judging and name calling before ever getting the facts. No one respects anyone’s opinions or beliefs anymore unless it aligns with their own. Was she being selfish by dropping out? Personally I don’t think so. As you said she didn’t do her best going in, maybe that was the start of it and she couldn’t shake it. She knew she wasn’t in the right headspace so she stepped down and one of our other girls got us the gold. That’s not being selfish, to me that is being a team player. It should be ok to talk and question things, just do so respectfully just as you’ve done. I wish more people could do that. 😔

Yes!! I think social media has empowered the bad attitudes, too. We can all just agree to disagree and still be friends. It's not that hard. Thanks for the comment.

I think what really annoys me even taking mental health out of this, is people who don’t follow the sport until Olympics. Many Only tune in the Olympics, but don’t follow comps like World meets each year. Simone has had times competing where she has started weak and still competed and ended on top do to difficulty start value alone. In gymnastics it’s more about ‘mental blocks” more so then mental health. When gymnast have these blocks and anxiety it’s extremely dangerous to compete. It’s a common place in the gymnastics to scratch gymnast in meets if they are having anxiety on a particular event or overall. Also, the stupid comparisons to other athletes in completely different sports. Tom Brady does bad he ends up with broken ego while Simone will end up in a stretcher. Middle aged men that no nothing about gymnastics are literally calling her a “sociopath” or “selfish” this is why people are vehemently supporting her. She actually made the correct decision. In that mindset she could of done damage to the team score additionally. What she did was actually selfless and humbling. These young ladies are human beings not robots.
