Brian Keith's daughter took her life and Brian did so also because of the grief of losing his daughter. She in April of 97 and him in June of the same year. Both with firearms. So sad, she was only 27.

Seems like Charles was extremely despondent about the loss of his wife . Add to that, that his only child was gone and he decided he had nothing left to live for. Very tragic for a man that had a special life.

Charles Boyer was in a US tv series, THE ROGUES, for the 1964-65 season on NBC, and Gig Young was a co-star. Gig Young also died from suicide in 1978, except it was even more tragic, as he shot & killed his young wife, whom he'd married just weeks before, before turning his gun on himself.

Thank you...I'm a boomer too. Wondering if they might have done this due to situational depression, rather than chronic? That would be reactive to a certain event (that they could have survived and eventually overcome, risen above in spite of pain) and were unable to navigate or self regulate through. Mr Boyer lost his wife, his son had just been told he was being rejected by his girlfriend. So tragic. I guess we'll never know if they had chronic mental problems. If only they had waited, given themselves time and grace, been gentle with themselves. Your tribute to them was so honorable and kind. Appreciated.

He loved her so much, That he ended up taking his own life. I didn't know about there son death. I just don't get it Steve. There a lot of Actors who doesn't get the Chances in Hollywood like the Boyer, Albert Salami, Peter Duel, Brian Keith And all the other Actors. What roles that are given to them, They accept and go about there business. I say if you commit Suicide, You have no FAITH IN GOD, BUT TO THE DEVIL IN HELL HIMSELF. GOD GIVES YOU LIFE. Charles Boyer probably just didn't want to go on without his wife and didn't see anything in front of him except old age and poor health. The son felt inferior to his Dad's fame and thought himself a "loser." When his girlfriend dumped him, that just added more feelings of not being good enough and he took his own life.
@jack2breeze4 ай бұрын
My brother had mental issues and talked about wanting to kill himself. Once he told me he bought a gun and wanted to shoot me for not understanding his condition. Then he said he was going to shoot himself afterwards. He told me this after he'd returned the gun. Try to have compassion for people with mental issues.
