When I was a kid in the 80’s we did this on our own. What a great innocent time to grow up. My grandparents are from Hanalei, Kauai. I spent every summer on the islands mostly on Kauai. My wife and I still go back every year.

Wasn’t being a child in the eighties great!! As long as I was home before it got dark my parents were okay with me just roaming around! You are so lucky to have been able to do this! Kauai is amazingly beautiful! I’m not surprised you go back every year. Thank you for your sharing your memories and for watching. Adrian

Great presentation, having worked 40 years in HOLLYWOOD I salute your photography, editing and narration. We just spent 9 days in KAUAI and unfortunately it rained heavy for 8 days of that in May (the dry season)... Whats more it rained the heaviest when we did the TUBING above, I mean even the guides said it was the worst they had seen in many a year. Heavy intense rain and dark poor light just ruins my GoPro shooting. I can easily see why it's so popular, but I think it's a bit too much bumping into each other specially when your feet hit another person badly, they should stagger the group more, The TUBING guys have a good thing going moneywise rain or shine, and as I've heard from the locals it is so overpriced! My first adventure in KAUAI was when I was a lot younger working on KING KONG and RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, and tourism was very limited and a lot less crowded and expensive... all the BEST to you both!

@grahamhill6340 thank you so much for your amazing comment! We cannot thank you enough. Your words mean a lot to us, especially from someone of your caliber and experience, and they just inspire us to continue what we’re dong. 🙂 We’re so sorry to hear that your trip to Kauai was rainy. We had a bit of rain too when we were there. And you’re right, there was a lot of bumping into each other on this tour; however, I think we lucked out with the group that we were part of. We were all just laughing about it the entire time. Thank you again! Please stay in touch and we hope you will continue to join us in our adventures.

@@worthytravels Yes, life is an adventure and being a BABY BOOMER I was fortunate to be born in a time when the quality of life was at its very best... Your parents and grandparents may have told you that when we were children, older people would tell us quite often "I wish I was your age", nobody says that anymore.... It's good to travel or at least it once was... PAN AM/TWA those were the days, when regular economy was better than first-class now... a time when you got good service and not self-service. I could go on, but it'd just make you cry... but thank you for the kind words!
