Over the past few months I've seen so many civil servants who were truly working hard to deliver the best they could DESPITE the callous sociopaths in cabinet. I've been regularly impressed by their sense of duty, clear and honest replies, and admissions of errors. Sir Christopher was not one of those civil servants. He acted more like Thérèşă Covfefe in a Breakfast TV show studio. But with less charm. Even the KC was sick and tired of him a few times. Each time he changed from questions to statements (even for the person changing the exhibits) my heart skipped and I just thought "Chris, you done screwed up bad... 😳😁"

It's the mark of a country in real, and serious decline. It is reflected in how successive Tory governments have gone about everything they've had to deal with. I do fear for the future of the UK. I don't think this is being alarmist. People need to wake up, because right now we seem to be getting the country we deserve; if people keep on voting these incompetent fools, chancers, and monsters in, time and again.

Two BBC stories to put this into perspective. All testing was originally centralise on Public Health England. Scotland decided to set up its own independent laboratory from scratch in early February, by April the N Ireland, Scottish and Welsh laboratories - which were all 'new builds' were outperforming England. Coronavirus labs to begin testing in Scotland BBC (10th February 2020) And, outperforming the UK lab How England has been lagging behind on testing BBC (8th April 202) This stuff that the political and media system in the UK will strive to cover up because it makes a comparison between the much better performance of the devolved goverments compared to the UK government

What is misconduct in public office? The offence requires that: a public officer acting as such; wilfully neglects to perform his or her duty and/or wilfully misconducts him or herself; to such a degree as to amount to an abuse of the public's trust in the office holder; without reasonable excuse or justification. It carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment

It took over 12 months for them to test lorry drivers and the same to open isolation hotels. They had opperation cygnus in 2017 where the outcome was so bad they refused to publish the findings. I was tought how a pandemic would spread around the world by air travel back in the 1970s I can still see the text book that showed us what would happen.i thought I strange when the school children came back to Torbay from a trip to Italy and there was no checking and tracing done. I was amazed there was no plan what so ever.

The obvious question is why, when Public Health English was originally responsible for testing across the whole of the UK was it dropped by the devolved administrations in January when they set up their own systems which rapidly started to outperform the UK laboratory. It's pretty clear that the devolved administrations knew in JANUARY that the Public Health Laboratory in England was going to fail. QC's not got a full brief here.

There was a working test and trace system available and used by many EU countries including Ireland. One major difference with that system to what the UK wanted is that the UK wanted to “mine” the data. Totally unacceptable to most people. In ireland we not stopped using ours a couple of months ago. It was Simple, Easy and Reliable. It also held the certification of covid vaccine information for international travel.

If you want another indicator of what the devolved administrations knew, and how it was covered up at the time,(the central information is right at the bottom of the piece) it was the establishment of an emergency dental health system. They set one up in Scotland 6 weeks ahead of the UK government. They were at4 least weeks ahead of the UK government in planning. They knew 4 weeks in advance that lock-down was unavoidable. They had a plan. The inquiry and the media will try everyway they can to cover that up - as they did at the time. Coronavirus: Are Dentists Open - BBC 6th April 202
