"aaywa" means "yes" for agreement, "zid wahda" means add another one means here dance to this song and also to the next one. "ragadah" is a word to describe dancing with all of our emotions. "achtah erdah" means come and dance with us. "achtah erdah ya baba" is a call for dancing to everyone. the word "baba" means father but here he gives whoever dance with him the same respect that gets every person, with strong personality you just have joins the party (it's a dare to show your capabilities as a dancer , and a call for dancing at the same time) "alaab, aalaab" means play your game. "arwah arwah" come here with us. "alik, alik, alik" look, look, look at what we have here. element of surprise. I'm a pround Algerian I hope everyone would be joining us in happiness and joyful occasion. thank you for this reviw.

In France, whene dj snake talke about this song, hé said" i made this singel in memory of m'y second contrey for m'y mom, not for the big Maghreb, but for Algeria
@jakaditetoi32702 жыл бұрын
Hiya, Just a quickie bout the drum, the bendir is showing up in the vid but actually the one in use is the gallal, also called qallouz. This instrument is mostly in use in western Algeria. Dj Snake asked cheikh N'hari for a hand using the gallal. He did it for purpose. The N'hari name means the guy is rooted in the Ouled N'har trib. The OUled N'har are known for a typical tribal music, the Alawi. The Disco Maghreb tune is into Alaoui, winking to the Rai music but still in the Alaoui mood, when talking about rythmics. Second quickie, as said the windwood zurna is in use but the zurna is not in use in the Alaoui music, they use the gasba, a reed instrument. The zurna is a second wink to the chaoui music, eastern Algeria , the second mood is a chaoui one. I'm not sure about but I think Dj Snake is chaoui rooted, half rooted. j Thanks for sharing. PS: We're not suffering that much in Algeria. Most of us are trying not to live for the others' eyes, may be that the reason making these eyes looking at us with..let us say contempt. We really don't care about, we're still prefering our neighbours to our dogs. One has been flipping around the world for decades, serenity is something no bucks' huge amount is able to provide. I hope Algeria will remain hidden forever.

Hi. This is a very interesting analysis of the song. I love how invested you are and we can hear it in your voice talking about a video you loved. Your students are lucky! The name Maghreb doesn't refer to the whole "Maghreb" it's just the name of a record label that was a huge part of Rai music history. What I loved about the video clip/ song is that he didn't try to embelish it and it's a kind of crude picture of the forgotten people in Algeria. I used and still love Allaoui music since I was a child and seeing it out there makes my year!!! People are missing out a lot and should pay more attention to north African music, Gnawi, Sahara rock music.. etc. I'm alway delighted to hear at the pool for example in the US someone who has Tinariwen for example playing, I'm biased, but I'd know instantly that the person has a great taste in music :)

The word "rdegada rdegada" is a continuation of musical voices pronounced in the same ways you pronounce for exemple in English "hey hey " when you dance. This type of dance was introduced by Algerian refugees in Marocoo during the Algerian Révolution. The Maroccans didn't exactly understand what it referred to and simply called it "regada" . The word does not mean anything simply an invitation to dance and follow the rythme which go with it. Any ways thanks ever so much for your interest of our traditionnal Algerian music.

Thanks you very much Sir. J’ai Pour finir

The song is already in America. DJ SNAKE has a french Dad yes but he left when he was 2 years old he was brought up by his ALGERIAN mother.
