I have heard that Tamil Brahmins may have migrated there from the banks of the Godavari River in coastal Andhra, where they used to speak Prakrit and Pali. @Bullish It's not only Brahmins, but Telugus in TN are also being targeted. They don't even allow Telugu in TN schools, even though places like Chennai are actually Telugu cities. They also hate Kannadigas. They love Sri Lankan Tamils, but Sri Lankan Tamils don't love them. AP and TS don't have a strong anti-brahmin sentiment and never cared for the dravidian movement. However, Telugus in TN were seen as a soft target by brahmins, as they were a minority, so now Telugus in TN are turning against Tam Brams using the dravidian movement. All the Naidus, Reddiars and Stalin running the DMK are all Telugus, and the others running it were Tam Brams like Jayalalitha and Kamal Haasan. Ironically, Telugus have Aryan blood just like tam brams, and Telugu is heavily Sanskrit-based. Telugus and Tam Brams in DMK are outcasted by mainstream Telugus and Tam Brams, and neither of them are pure Dravidians.

Likewise, we have a cordial relation with Kamal. And yes, you are right about NTK. Even people like Stalin and Rajapakse are identified as Telugu because of their origins, and they expect people to hate them because of that. However, Stain can't speak or write a word of Telugu, and we don't consider him one of us. Just like Tam Brams are their own little community, Telugus in TN are their own community. Roughly 15% of TN have Telugu ancestry, but less than 5% can speak Telugu, out of which, their Telugu is heavily mixed with Tamil and their dialect and accent are not comprehensible by the majority of Telugus, so we consider them to be a separate isolated community and more Tamil than Telugu culturally.
