Why Do I Have An RV Refrigerator Fan? The Beech Lane Refrigerator Fan

I happened to come across this exact product earlier today after seeing an online post about the cooling fins of the fridge freezing over. Supposedly a circulation fan will limit or slow down the freeze, plus it makes sense to have one in an absorption type fridge due to lack of air movement. Saw this product on Amazon and added to my wish list for when we get our Airstream.

I tried a similar fan years ago and didn’t see much performance increase. Yours seems better. Humidity is hard on absorption fridges. It is better to install a fan in the chimney to expel the hot air behind the fridge. We don’t have our Airstream anymore and have a diesel pusher motorhome and have a residential fridge. We’ve added solar and lithium batteries for dry camping. We have the opposite issue, it’s too cold sometimes.

Just got back from a 7 day trip to Gettysburg Campground. Look that Place! The rechargeable batteries lasted the whole time. So I turned it off til the next trip... Will keep you all posted on them. (keep in mind the brand I'm using from Amazon cause I'm sure the quality of them differs.

It would be great if they were usb rechargeable, and if it a timer that would turn it on and off a few times an hour.

How long does the battery last and how many batteries

Not sure how long it lasts - I have heard 3 weeks or so. There are two D batteries required for this device (you can use rechargeable ones too

I use either Duracell or Energizer - depends on what is best price when I go to store to buy

The batteries are expensive and rechargeable both expensive and PITA. Need a 120v solution that I can setup and forget.

@@AirstreamNerds Another site had a clever solution of running a wire down the drain hole which could be used for a proper Neutral "return."

You don’t have 120 volt inside the fridge, so unless you are going to rewire this or 12v is your only option
