Another great video, I’ve never heard dpf outlet temp explained as a result of soot load. Thanks again Joe, look forward to more.

Unfortunately such is life for most service trucks. If buying used I would always favour a truck with low miles but high hours. You can always swing an engine. Keeping a mile’d out truck reliable is another story

I agree. The vibration put on with mileage is hard on everything including harnesses. In our neck of the woods they put down calcium chloride and salt in winter so frames go too. A few years ago I was in our Baton Rouge branch and the service trucks had cats in them that is how long they could keep them. We stopped buying cat power around 2005.

Why I love my old diesel Injector pump. Solid cast iron block no liner External injectors. Zero emissions ❤❤❤ All of these problems are impossible for me to even have😊

Plenty of old diesels had liners. They sure make rebuilding cheaper too.

Liners are a good thing.

Dang that’s like idling 24/7 for a YEAR!!! My old diesel does not idle smooth. Encourages me to NEVER idle More than a few minutes.

It won't bother it if it's emissions free. I had a diesel VW golf that ran for 4-5 months of the year, otherwise it wouldn't cold start. Just make sure you also work em hard now and then to clean out the pipes.

Speaking of bunged up DPF I had something odd happen a few weeks back on my 2011 duramax. It let a white cloud go that screamed coolant in combustion, but no smell. It let that white cloud rip for 1/4 mile. What a difference afterwards. Only thing I can figure is it was bunged up with ash and it came out by itself.
