I guess that's just how her lips have to compensate for her tongue going over. I had speech like hers, but more severe from underdeveloped jaw muscles and what's known as lazy tongue. I had to go to therapy to learn how to open my mouth and use those muscles, and to get rid of the lisp because my tongue pushing on my teeth was affecting how my teeth grew. I 'm glad Emily is healthy and well! if it's not affecting her health and she's happy that's all that matters.

I had the same issue growing up! It's you have a big tongue! The speech therapist said I'd grow into it! I LIKE the way you TALK! You're pretty, you'll have to accept that jelous people will try to find fault with you, in an effort to feel better a out themselves. It happens, it never ends, just accept you're an attractive girl & others are going be jelous & hate on you. The speech therapist said there was NOTHING WRONG, with me. I used to ( in an effort to be understood) end up with tip of my tongue touching the back side of one side of my mouth, one of my canines. But it didn't help. If you're happy, that's what matters. If you don't want to talk with a lisp you can correct it, yourself. It's requires minimal phsical effort to do it, but remembering to always make the effort being conscious of your tonge is mentally tiring.

Mattie Heard your new mom did a really noble act, she saw something that could potentially be a motive of trouble in the future for you. You should be grateful as she was concerned for this, she took her time and those therapies weren't for free they are expensive. My brother had a speech impediment when he was a child and my mom hated it because unfortunately it interferes with giving a message correctly and people get distracted by it. Your mom could have just ignored them and keep your speech like that if she didn't care, you know?

Mattie Heard Honestly, as much as you hated it, she did you a favor. Having a speech impediment can affect how people perceive you and henceforth, it will have an effect on future occupations. Sure, your self-esteem must've gotten hurt but people can overcome that. However, failing to get a job that you wanted because of a lisp would've been much more detrimental in my opinion. (Especially if it would cause you to do speech therapy anyways, better to do it early). Of course, if you or whoever would rather be yourself and that takes priority above all else then I retract my statement. Some of us don't mind making sacrifices to get ahead, and some just don't give a fuck; still, give that mom some slack.

awh this hits so close to my heart ❤ I have a speech impediment. when I was younger I couldn't say my R's , L's & W's . I took speech classes from 1st to 5th grade. sometimes it still comes out every once in a while . I always correct myself & sometimes it comes out as a stutter . I had a "friend" who would laugh at me & would point it out every single time I missed pronounced a word. & I honestly hate when people do that . Its pure ignarance . I've seen your videos on fb this is my 1st time seeing you on YT. I recently started doing my own KZbin videos on my other channel , Makeup Is My Heroine . you could probably tell if you watch my videos. but I honestly didn't notice your lisp until I was watching one of your other videos & I read the comments. people are stupid if the way someone talks bothers them so much they have to point it out. keep doing you girl❤❤

I still cannot say Harold without really thinking about how it's pronounced. I did speech therapy for preschool, head starts, kindergarten and up to 2nd grade. So 5 years total because of a speech impediment. I still stutter a little when I get worked up.

Honestly I followed you on depop and shopped your closet before I even ever saw you on social media. People can be extremely cruel, especially with things they deem “not normal”. I was bullied and beat up as a child merely for having freckles and being ginger. Same for having had an accent, which my parents put me in speech therapy for. My sister also has a lisp where she cannot pronounce her “s-es” & “th”. I’m glad you embrace it- I feel as though it gives your voice more character. Thanks for being a real person, and being open and honest about things- it’s rare these days.

I never would have noticed any of this, if you hadn't mentioned it. I love your look--you are stunning, edgy yet pretty, and I think slight asymmetries add interest anyway. Your beauty is unique, and your mad skills take you from "cute" to "knockout"!

A lisp is literally a mouth malformation. You should never want one. It’s caused by having a bottle or pacifier too long as a child. So much so that it alters the roof of your mouth(palette) and pushes your front teeth out so much that your tongue can go through and that gives you a lisp. It’s super hard to understand and very unprofessional. I’m sure she’ll find it very hard to get a job where she talks a lot. So, before you wish you had this think about how it will actually affect you in your real life.

Never let people get you down. I have had a speech impediment all my life. Growing up a lot of people asked if I was foreign. And I went to speech therapy for 7 years and I still have issues. You are who you are and your beautiful no matter what.

Had to Subscribe. You would be surprised how uplifting this video is. I know the pain of people thinking your lisp is due to piercings. I've had one my entire life too, I also have trouble with J and Ch sounds. I have always wondered if anyone out there with a lisp has a youtube channel. Im glad I found your channel. I know the feeling of anxiety when it comes to this. I've always thought to myself "how does anyone take me seriously?" as I don't have anyone around me in my immediate life who also has a lisp. But you are gorgeous and you own it.

I’ve been watching the channel quite frequently, and subscribed a few days ago. I’ve always noticed your lisp. It don’t both me. From sometime in elementary to the time I was 22 or 23. Yeah, I still stutter but not nearly as much as when I younger. Mostly when I’m tired now. You’re confident on who you are. That’s all that matters. ❤️

I was bullied so hard in middle school for my lisp. So much that in high school I decided I wouldn’t talk as much because I couldn’t take it anymore. I ended up going to a whole new school district and didn’t know anyone so it was the perfect opportunity to start over. One day one of my new friends noticed my lisp and I stopped talking immediately. He said “hey that’s so cool! You shouldn’t hide it, it makes you different!” And that was the first time I felt a slight confidence in myself. All these years later, I still am aware of how I talk and try to avoid Ss as much as possible, but no where near how I was some time ago. I love your lisp, it’s cute and unique!

I never watched you a lot because the way you talked did bug me (yes I understand it sounds rude, but there’s little things that bother everyone. No different than hating the way someone chews, the difference is I’ve NEVER left hate comments about it because that’s petty and childish.) but every time one of your videos popped up I was so interested in it I would just deal with being mildly bugged. And you’re completely right! After so many videos in now you really do start to not notice it. It almost like an accent in a way, hearing it for so long it just starts to sound so normal you don’t even hear a difference. Anyways, you make amazing videos and are inspiring me to get back into trying nails again! Love what you’re doing and so glad I kept coming back 💚

I ACTUALLY ALSO HAVE THE TOP TEETH THING like they just don't show when I talk or open my mouth (my lower lip goes down though, so you can only see my lower teeth, and a tiny bit of my upper teeth every now and then) and everyone keeps pointing it out, even my mom lol so I try to talk and show my teeth but it just takes so much more effort.
@alyssahamlett5 жыл бұрын
I don’t really show much of my lower teeth, and also my jaw is a little crooked so my teeth don’t align on top of themselves perfectly. Don’t change the way you talk unless it bothers you babe, I know it might be frustrating when people mention it but that will go away and one day you’ll realize your imperfections are whAt make us unique and special. When your younger we all wanna be alike and fit in but the older you get the more you celebrate your individuality.

I am 50 percent deaf in both of my ears, I stutter a lot and I am so discouraged sometimes. People can be so mean. I feel like I am a beautiful woman with or without my flaws, but it is hard to have confidence with people always trying to push you down, it's so messed up. *Anyways, I think your lisp makes you unique and it is why I subscribed to your channel.....because you are different and beautiful, inside AND out. Love you girl!*

You know what, it doesn't matter to me how you talk. I can still understand what you're saying. I actually like listening to you talk. It's nobody's damm business but your own how you talk. People shouldn't be so fkn rude about stuff like this. Smh. I love you girl. Don't let rude ass people bring you down about something you have no control over. Your lisp is what makes you perfectly amazing!!! My brother has a lisp and all his kids have one also so it makes me angry when I see other people getting bullied about a lisp.

I just found your channel and want to say don't let people get you down concerning your lisp. I'm so pissed that you have to explain yourself to all the rude inconsiderate asshats who can't be a decent person and keep certain things to themselves. Clearly their parents never taught them to be polite . You're not weird and it's completely normal for someone to have a lisp.
@Mrzsandy19806 жыл бұрын
i'm sorry you feel need to have to explain yourself, you can clearly see its just a lisp and you are beautiful with or without it, don't trip girl people aren't happy unless they got something to say! my son has a slight speech impediment it just something that happens its nothing you did its just the way you started speaking as you know so yah don't stress it and don't ever feel the need to explain yourself to idiots because nobody is perfect! keeping doing you, your awesome and talented : )

I’m so glad that I could find this as soon as clicked on your channel. My curiosity was purely innocent as I had just been doing some reading that was about being tongue tied. I was honestly surprised that you never called it being tongue tied. All of the symptoms you listed off about your mouth are the primary symptoms for having ankyloglossia or being tongue tied. It is something that can be corrected to an extent usually in childhood. You are an incredibly beautiful person and I admire your strength. We Stan a beautiful woman who accepts herself and loves herself as she is. 💕

Victoria Fleuty That's the exact boat I'm in. Big tongue causing a lisp and mild stutter. I didn't have a choice on speech therapy, it was just part of schooling (public system covered it). Went in in pre-K and lost the lisp by 1st/2nd grade. I still have a stutter if I get tired (lisp and stuttering kind of go hand in hand...usually, not always). Occasionally I may slip and lisp. Speech therapy pretty much taught me how to form my words differently physically so they sounded the same as someone without a lisp. The only major issue is biting my damn tongue and insides of my cheeks constantly.

I think it’s super adorable ❤️❤️❤️ my daughter has a lisp from sucking her thumb as a little girl, she broke that habit at 7 or 8, but it’s still there, it’s super strong in the morning, my husband has a mild one also, it’s absolutely so cute! Once I head you talk I binge watched your nail videos .your such a beautiful & unique & transparent. Keep being beautifully you❤️

I like to hear you talk. I think it makes you who you are. Nothing distracting or wrong with the way you talk. Don't get a tongue piercing because I hear it might cause one to break your teeth and nobody wants to deal with that. I'm 65 and am so glad young people can express themselves through piercings (just be careful with who does them), hair color and tattoos ( I have 3). Thank you for making videos!!!
