As a pharmacy student, we learn that the brand and generic should be the exact same medication/ strength. The only difference are the inactive ingredients which could effect your side effects to the medication. But the brand and generic should be the same drug and strength.
@1Jennamo6 жыл бұрын
Bonnie Hoellein the fillers in brand versus generic are not necessarily the "better" filler, just different and sometimes not even different
@cjpitch6 жыл бұрын
The branded medication has to pay for the research and initial costs to create the medication, which is why they cost more. Once the patent expires (typically 20 years from initial research-about 10 years after consumers are exposed to it) other companies can make their own version. There are many brand name medications that don't hold as high of a rating as their generic counterparts. There are many cases when fillers are even the same, just the cut/color/process may differ. There's no truth in saying brands are better than generics when it comes to medication. There may be generics with ingredients you are allergic to, but I'm sure there are brands with ingredients you're allergic to also. The FDA holds generics to an incredibly high standard. They just don't have to recover the costs for the initial research and studies, so they cost less...

Wonderful simple body positivity talk for the kids! When I was in 8th grade and would be cold with the air conditioner blasting (which I am until this very day), my TEACHER told me in front of the whole class "maybe you wouldn't be so cold if you put on some weight). I still think about it to this day almost 17 years later, because amidst all the skinny comments I received growing up, that one stands out as the most shockingly inappropriate thing for a teacher to say to a 13 year old child developing their body image.

Great topic, in high school I was so skinny then after babies I gained weight and couldn't take it all off. Now, after 24 hip surgeries and not being able to walk for 3 years I am 60 pounds overweight, actually 55 because I have lost 5 lbs. I joined weight watchers and Thursday is my first meeting. My weight loss is because I have been WALKING 2-5 miles a day which my orthopedist believes is a miracle.

Just a friendly tip from a Dental Hygienist. Crest Pro Health contains Stannous Fluoride, this type of Fluoride actually stains teeth, so I’d stay away from that. The baking soda and peroxide whitening toothpaste used Sodium Fluoride, which is what you want! 👍 Make sure the toothpaste you use doesn’t have the little blue beads in it though because those are literally made of plastic and they do not dissolve. I’m constantly fishing them out from underneath my patients gums. They can cause some serious irritation if they get stuck. Crest is supposed to be taking them out soon, so hopefully that won’t be a problem for much longer!

I know it’s rough dealing with the symptoms but you’d seriously be better off doing elderberry syrup and vitamin c and whole foods. Cough medicine including Tylenol can actually make the illness longer by reducing glutathione (weakening the immune system). We drink sodium ascorbate in our water when sick or trying not to get sick and do elderberry syrup for the kids as a preventative measure and while sick. Echinacea and goldenseal are good too. Colloidal silver is great too.
Kudos for talking with your kids about different body types❤️
