ABUSE. Can be a sign of child abuse. at home, at school. Growing up in an abusive family and or environment can lead to chronic thumb sucking. It gives comfort, ruins the bite if too much, but can also help prevent suicide.

I’m 13 and I fall asleep with my thumb in my mouth and I wake up with my thumb not in my mouth, I tried putting a bandage on my thumb and worked but then I ran out and here it goes again with the sucking 🤦🏽‍♀️

Lol I was looking at an old picture when I was a child and my teeth were and still is affected because I sucked my thumb everyday for years!! My mother did a lot of things to stop me but I didn't care, I sucked everything she put on my finger that was meant for me to stop. Lol I eventually stopped at around 8-9 or maybe 10 because I cut a cut on my thumb and it became a soar that took so long to heal. Eventually I just stopped

Lol. I stopped when I was 15. I didn't suck my thumb though. I sucked my index and middle fingers on my left hand. Apparently I was born with those to fingers in my mouth. My parents tried everything to get me to stop but i couldn't. It stopped on it's own. I visited my Cousin one day and when I got back home I just had no desire to do it anymore.

I remember a few years ago my when I use to like painting my nails my mom would have to leave my one thumb without nail polish beacuse It was nail polish like yeah. But it was just comforting to me and it still is I've kinda stopped but I still do.

GUYS I USED TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM LIKE 3 MONTHS AGO BUT.... I got this thing from braceability if fits all sizes and it’s stopped me from my habit it’s awesome! I found it fascinating if you at abortion pictures 4-10weeks the babies fetuses appear have their thumbs in mouth. I feel like the babies brain is wired to do so because in mothers stomach it was in that position for a majority of its growth 😮
