“Grown men who are men of God, we don’t want to hurt you. We don’t want to belittle you. We don’t want to talk down to you. What we want to do is put our head in a pillow and scream at the top of our lungs, and cry our eyes out. But we don’t feel like we can do that…So what we will do is we will bottle it up, we will internalize, and we will lash out at our woman, being disrespectful or condescending or rude because we are not releasing those emotions… It’s okay for you to say, ‘hey it’s okay to show emotions…to cry…to scream…to like feel…I’m not judging you.’ …Give him a hug.” - Tony Gaskins Jr. THIS PART!❤️🔥

If someone is grieving PLEASE do not ask them how r u doing? When my mom passed I really avoided this question when people kept asking me. Just say I’m praying for you or I’m here if you need to talk…in my opinion this is much better.

SO TRUE. I was 27 when I lost my mom and people would ask that, and I just remember thinking...'Are you serious right now?'. I know they didn't know what to say or were trying to be helpful but that was one question I almost snapped on. To make matters worse, I would say 'I'm ok' and the follow-up would be, 'I know you're not'...😮 I'm still amazed I had self-control back then.

I worked at the MAC counter in the late 90’s. This was before social media . The men would bring their wives in for a makeover. Some women would even have a beard or mustache grow. These days I’m hired out for consulting. The husband will show me a photo of what is wife looked like when they were married. He knows that they are older and things change. He just wants her to take care of herself by wearing a little makeup when they go out, get the dirt out of her fingernails, etc. I commend the men for trying.

Tony, thank you for the video, as always, a blessing. I do have a question, if you are an open space and comforting space for your man, yet he still says things like “men don’t cry” “men shouldn’t show emotion”, what do I do then? What is the cause for this? Even though I keep reassuring and encouraging to share and be open. We’ve been married 2 1/2 years, so maybe it’s time? Anything he shares with me that seems vulnerable, he’s shared with other people in his family.

I know you did a topic once about a man's wandering eye, can you do an update about that. I see a lot of men with this problem and from a women's perspective I just find it disrespectful. I do know a man or 2 that love their wives and do not have this problem, so what is the difference between these men.

What if you know he is grieving from losing a friend. We had a huge argument before the funeral, he was extremely disrespectful. Despite being hurt, I've tried to reach out and communicate by saying sorry for what I did to offend him, also asking how he his and sending encouraging words on the day of the funeral and after. He's still lashing out at me even though I am sending positive words of affirmation. I went silent after and its been days since we spoke. I dont know what to do anymore. I am beyond hurt

A man ckning hime everyday is to be put on a pedestal?! Im confused. Isn't he supposed to? Im not going ro mistreat him for coming home but when i describe my husband him coming home and not hitting me wont be kn the description. It will include his qualities, his integrity, his character. Like do we give student an A for showong up to class, come on now.

I have a question for you Tony.... What if your husband of 1 year (recently married) hardly wants to have sex with you? I always want it, but he doesn't as much. If we have sex twice a week, he's good. And the kicker... we have a long-distance marriage. But whenever he's in town (which is often), he stays with his sister and not me, so we're having sex less and less. I'm so frustrated!!!

Is there a reason you’ve agreed to such an arrangement rather a spouse you live with and have daily access to physically, emotionally, and spiritually? I’ve never heard of such. I pray you find clarity on your union.
@nadinedrayton-joseph421324 күн бұрын
@cw8365 It's a long story, and there are many layers to it, but the short version is... my apartment is very small, so he'd rather have the space and freedom staying with his sister. Plus, shortly after we met, he went to live with his nephew in Texas, so he goes back and forth. Another thing is I'm helping him get his green card. Now I know what people will immediately think, but if he's playing me, he's a good actor, because we dated a while before that was even a topic of conversation, but I'm not nieve to think that it's not possible. If it is, then he can go because I'm already one foot in and one foot out! Thanks for your well wishes, though 🙏
