This is the best explanation I've heard of why getting out in a green space - any green space - is so important. Great analysis.

Uh... this seems pretty subjective. I've heard plenty of people say that city sounds help them fall asleep. And certain nature sounds, like cicada screeches in the heat of summer or the creepy calls of coyotes, send my stress levels soaring.

What about the poor people that don't have any county relatives? We need more green and healthy spaces in our towns.

I sleep with white noises, especially wind ones. Like icestorm, wind through leaves, howling wind, desert wind etc... it makes me incredibly calm i can't suggest enough to everyone! Kisses

Almost same here. I sleep with rain and thunderstorm noises. Sometime with fireplace. Only once or twice I used an ice storm noise. I’ll go find it again:)

Is it because constant exposure to loud noises and crowded spaces overload our senses? I know I get exhausted and overstimulated in such cities where there is a lot going on because I feel like my brain is working over time to process my surroundings. In nature, I can take things one at a time.

I wonder if our ancestors felt this way, though. They were in constant survival mode from the dangers of nature, as well.

I enjoy listening to your explanations very easy to understand. When I am in nature, I am in awe of God's creation! Genesis 1:29-30 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

It's great to go in the great outdoors and enjoy God's creation. Awesome, plus, there aren't as many demons in the wilderness. Demons prefer to hang out where there are more people. They're always up to no good. 🙄

I associate certain bird sounds with the morning, and I hate mornings, they stress me out. So when I hear these specific birds, even when it's dark out, I get very stressed because I know I've stayed up way too late.
