best video on fuel economy i have seen so far, tbh i know about aerodrag and acceleration and braking but i was missing the efficiency on low rpm, which you explained well, thank you still my 200cc dual sport is doing 4L/100km, same as a small city car, i'm confused

Bottom line....if you look at the numbers, you have a Hyundai accent car with a 1.6 liter engine that can get 36 mpg.....a Kawasaki Vulcan 1600, which has 2 less cylinders, less horsepower and is probably 1 5th the weight, logic should suggest that your fuel consumption should be at least quadruple the car. But the Vulcan only gets around 50 mpg maybe a little more if you're careful. Something just isn't right in my opinion. Yes I think there is a global conspiracy lol. The math should explain it.

Older motorcycles get less than 3l/100km, like DKW RT 125 should go under 3. It is a fascinating 2-stroke carburator. Also the bigger DKW 350 NZ is listed as 3.3l/100km. Modern motorcycles are just bad at fuel economy due to poor engineering and dumb customers who buy oversquare engines for MAX POWA! But if you go ahead and get a long stroke Royal Enfield, you can still get a 350cc bike that gets you 3l/100km. Or you can get 100cc TVS which gets you 1.4l/100km. Well at least in India you can, but not in EU. Because EU doesn't want fuel efficient vehicles in the market, because they dilute the market of BMW, Audi etc.. so EU euro5 code etc. are actually increasing fuel consumption of many vehicles, basically. But you can get Royal Enfields in Europe.

In Europe we ride Honda CB125F which uses 1.5 l per 100 km. We use the standards to keep our air clean.

fantastic video. I would great to see a comparision between electric cars and electric bikes.

An engine is an air pump, the more restrictions, the less efficient. The dirtier the engine, the less efficient. That's why a lot of EPA required addons to engines may reduce emissions, but ironically make engines less efficient, requiring more fuel to be burned.

Misleading title that will miss lead tons of people who didn't watch and gives bikes a bad rap. Real-life tests show that the 220hp monster kawasaki h2 can be ridden 3.9l- 5 while a prius is 4.7. And I see how your video is not bad but still some dipshit someday will use your title as argument. In the end many people go to work with a motorcycle. The nc700 does 2.8l. The 140kmh Honda 300 does 2.4 or so. People would save 2l per 100km easily on the real life commute. E mobility gets thousands support in Germany now. They make rich people toys cheaper instead of getting thousands of people that can't afford anything or something good a 3.5-4.5l motorcycle

All i care about is the reliability of motorcycles Why they are so unreliable, and why you can't use a motorcycle at low RPMs, 1500-2000rpm
