Skar is a solid budget build brand. I’ve found that big time Skar fans defend the brand like it’s a political party. It’s crazy how people go back and forth fighting over the brand like they do. I’ve even gotten into it with some people over just making an observation based on my own experiences with their equipment which weren’t bad actually. Just not good enough for the fan boys. I mean, realistically, A LOT of brands sourced manufacturing to Chinese build houses way back but low key straight out didn't come out with it. (And all the parts are sourced from china too). I haven't played with any Skar stuff but have a couple friends running them and they're pretty decent for the price point.

i have never ran skar but if i were to come across a used 3500 or any of there halfbridge bigger amps for a good deal id probly buy one

The Skar RP1200.1D i had was ok, but my Sundown SFB amp is fantastic. Just use what you want and stop arguing about what is good for some and not others.

@@mikesilverthorn911- A great designed, & built woofer, is a great designed, & built woofer. You know why i recommended the Skar DDX woofer? Because it was designed by a very good speaker designer, = The former owner of Sundown Audio= Jacob Fuller. Yes, Sundown has to charge more, to pay for more R & D, that is a given. But older designs doesn't necessarily mean inferior products. Many older things were actually made stronger, & with higher quality parts. Both companies have there strong points, & have great products. Skar can keep prices lower, because of trickle down/proven designs, & technology. While Sundown Audio can push the boundaries, & charge much higher prices for the people that have to have the latest greatest. We as consumers, pick what way we want to go, & we ALL can be happy.

Or be careful with your equipment. In my 30+year of dealing with car audio I've never broken an RCA input, now I've broken a couple of RCA jacks inside of the input.
