I’d say it boils down to meta. Female survivors tend to be shorter/smaller than male survivors. So it’s easier to hide with them. Then you have female survivors like Nea who are very quiet, which is also why Ace is commonly run. Basically, when someone is playing Nea and or Ace, they’re admitting that they don’t have the sheer skill it takes to play as mountain man Jeff.

Me me! My games most of with Jeffs! He is huge but always my temmates dies first. I just adapted how to play sneaky, calm and better looping. People thinks we cant play better because of big characters but its so wrong. Females gives me high anxiety and i always failing with them on loops.

I play both but funnily enough the running of the female survivors seems more fluid and it makes my brain think they're faster and more agile for some reason, while the male ones look clumsy and very slow.

The same effect happens with the killers. When you play Nemi you get an entirely different view from a character like Pig or Ghostface. It feels like you're moving a lot slower when playing Nemi or the survivors are slower.

Historically I play female characters cause they have a smaller hitbox or character model so it gives you an advantage. However they also usually have better skins and id prefer to play as a character I like to look at.

Lady survivors actually don't have a smaller hitbox, but the character model is about a head shorter then the mens. Their hitbox stretches above their head as a result though

The last part with Return of the Obra Dinn is why I think the game is cool. First you'd see that guy fall and you'd assume that he just died from falling, but then later you'd find out he died from electrocution and you'd only notice it if you were paying attention

This has been an on going... discussion... since the beginning. I've seen a lot of Survivors complain about Killer perks being stronger than Survivor perks and it's like... yes, that's how you balance a 4v1. Or the Survivors who complain that Survivors can't win in 1v1 situations with Killers. And my favorite, complaining that wiggling is useless because hooks are so close together you never get out on your own. It's like they don't even understand how the game works... 🤔

I play Felix. because of his drip, his backstory/personality, and most importantly, his hilarious scream when he gets hooked. …and he has a skin where you can see his chest. I love when people in the lobby say “Felix so hot” or “sheeesh Felix”. Secondary is Cheryl. because everybody loves Cheryl. especially with her “moving on” skin. i like playing as her when I’m doing hyper-altruistic builds. But I am a Killer Main at heart. Ghostface is my main, and I absolutely love playing him. He’s perfect. Except for his janky ass lean.

Prior to the recent updates, I just ran what survivors happened to have perks I wanted to use and happened to have unlocked by specific characters, which meant switching between Claudette, Ace, Tapp, and Leon. Now I still do that but with more perks. Also he didn't point it out directly but the Man Who Was Flyin in that last Obra Dinn clip was the same guy who got hit by lightning. What an unfortunate fellow.

I'm a guy who started playing around 2018-2019-ish. Ace always stuck out as a main. At first as the best character to have a quick farming setup on once you had Davi's WGLF as a teachable, plus the auric shards to unlock your first non-licensed character, Plunderer's instinct, WGLF, Ace in the hole + exhaustion perk or whatever twas the original pure farming setup. Being an Ace main seemed like the fastest way to access it. Years later, I still play Ace as my main, but I leveled up and prestige some other character sometimes (admittedly females have gotten the most attention, but Ace is still my highest prestige, and everyone is at least prestige 1 for teachables.) The fact that he is one of the QUIETEST survivors has made him easy to keep as a main, even if he has a tall profile. But at this point, I don't even care anymore. I wear the most bright, and hideous, mismatched outfits I can on him, often to my own detriment. But at this point I'm just playing the game for casual fun anyways as a solo queue mostly, so if it results in a shorter match for me, that's OK too TBH.
