Tax complexity, representativeness, movement coordination form shooting, skill adaptability form shooting, all lead to skill adaptability training drills? A lot said in an unnecessarily complex manner. Wading through the video again, you have to start simple and gradually work your way to more complex or game like scenarios. Form shooting has great value: How to hold the ball. Where to hold the ball. Foot position. Athletic stance. Eyes. Balance. Follow through. Visualization. Warm up. Positive feedback. To name a few. Form shooting is a fantastic way to begin that transition to higher intensity/complex shooting. I could never send this video out to my players (middle and high school)and expect them understand or even finish it. With all due respect Coach, the video plays like a commercial leading to a shooting camp or online course. Respectfully

I appreciate you taking the time to send this message. I'd certainly take no offence if you decided to unsubscribe. My goal with this page is to share some of the information I'm learning as I dive into the research surrounding motor learning and skill acquisition, and even conduct my own research. My goal is not for these videos to be sent to middle school players, but rather for them to inspire coaches that want a glimpse into the way shooting is taught at the NBA level. If you have interest in continuing your coaching journey, I'd encourage you to start to explore some of the research around skill acquisition and motor learning as well. When you do, I think you'll start to see, as I did, that there might be a better way to teach shooting than stationary form shooting. All the best!
