youtube suggests the video to a bunch of people at first. If people really like it, it goes viral, if people find it boring, then it stops getting views. This sounds like a BS excuse. If the short wasn't popular it wouldn't get any views at all. Not get a bunch a views and then immediately stop. What's the incentive for making shorts when the views suddenly stop? I only make shorts to funnel people to my channel. If shorts only get a certain amount of views then what's the point? If KZbin wants to take over the short form content game, they need to make it more lucrative for the creators. Otherwise, it's a waste of my time to create them. At least my long form videos get consistent views.

Nah, that is not the question. That is how YT do a testing. It sends your short to feed of different audiences in the first 24h to see how it behaves. But the real question is why do shorts get 0 views where they are not shown to anyone in shorts feed all of a sudden after few shorts that got consistent views?

@@Shorties99 I happened to me 3 times and I thought it was always my fault and deleted all 3 channels. I don't know why it happens and when it does hoe long does it remain that way, but I one thing I know for certain, it's not my fault but the algorithm. I made a fourth channel yesterday and uploaded a short at 9PM and it 1 got view from me until now (after 24h). It was not shown to anyone it shorts feed. So it's definitely algorithm that is the issue here. I follow another youtuber and he made a new channel just for shorts 5 days ago. In his case the number of views is also very strange. 1st short 11K views, 2nd and 3rd 2 and 3 views, 4th 2.4K views and after that one 4 got less than 10 views and the newest one he published few hours ago has about 400 views now. I had cases where my short didn't get any views at all and then started getting views after 15h. I had shorts that were shown to 0 people in shorts feed in the first 6 hours (published at 9PM) and then all of a sudden as the 6th hour started (3AM), it started being pushed into the algorithm, it got like 30 views and was shown to 44 people, then stopped and then at 11AM started getting views again. Then that same day I published a new video and it again was not shown to anyone in shorts feed and I hoped the same thing would happen, but naah, it didn't get views at all. So it is completely random. You never know and can never predict how the algorithm will behave. I think everyone should just post and not delete them hoping that one of the shorts will start getting a lot of attention and then all the others will start getting views.

I have another channel that is relatively well established. This happens to me even when my retention is 100%, the short would get like 2000 views the first day and then suddenly drop off. This doesn't happen for every video but still very weird.

KZbin sets how many views your shorts get based on retention rate. Shorts with more of a percentage of people who kept watching will have an constant rate in increase. Keep in note an exponential increase that flatlines suddenly probably won't get any views after...

My shorts use do modestly well they would receive around 1,500 to 4,000 almost immediately after uploading but my new shorts are performing drastically low 200 views? I deleted and or privated all of my recent shorts which were around ten to twenty videos why because if there's no interest why leave them to waste space it's frustrating and discouraging honestly but oh well sigh!☮️

Just the luck of the draw. Shorts are very random and can be affected by audience demographic issues like sporting events, school trends... even the weather. They are volatile... but that volatility is one of the things that allows them to explode they way that they do in the first place.

I started a new channel , my first two videos got 10-15 views, after that two new videos got approx 200 views and I'm down to 15 views again
