The “old” worship songs are the best, they are mostly Word-based. The Integrity Music “Hosanna Praise and Worship” series from the 80’s onwards are a wealth of songs that always lead me into the presence of the Lord.

I feel this so deeply Kim, thank you for putting words to my own experience in a way I haven’t been able to. Last year after my world crumbled beneath me and I was so broken I finally surrendered to the Lord because I had exhausted every other option. I would lay on the ground in physical and emotional pain so deep I cannot describe and cry for hours while in prayer, saying “Jesus, I’m all yours, I don’t know why You would want me as I have nothing to offer, I’m just a broken pile of failure and pain, but I’m willing if You are, here I am. Do anything you want with me, I’ve got no fight left in me…” and this entire year has been a painful, emotional and exhausting process but absolutely necessary and exactly what I have always needed. Praise the Lord! Thank you Jesus!

I want to thank you if you read this. I’ve been so numbed, for lack of a better word, from working in churched my whole life. I don’t really consider myself a praised and worship leader, I’ve never applied for a job but I’m always being asked to help in some capacity, whether it be leading worship, develop music departments of a start up church or whatever. I always end up getting let go or passed up after the church’s get some growth etc. Anyways, I’m very jaded from feeling used and watching the way may pastors and leader take advantage or people. I was recently asked multiple times this year by a new cowboy church to help. After about the fifth time I reluctantly agreed. I didn’t feel like I was fit to serve this time. I had a dream and in the dream you gave me a taking too, I must have recently heard a song by you or something. It brought me to your KZbin page as I haven’t paid attention to current praise and worship. I find you genuine and a true leader. I’m glad you are still doing what you were called to do. Thank you for being real.
