You’re not wrong at all. While I am empathetic toward mental illness and struggles, I think the video of so many of these female athletes sharing their struggles was a bit over the top. Not all struggles are created equal. I also believe it is a bi-product of the social media generation. Struggles with mental illness is nothing new, but everyone these days seems to use it to share their personal business with the world. It really is becoming to be too much, and it overshadows the ones who have true mental health struggles.

Track & Field is one of those sports where there is no big money in it at all. All lower level if you are good enough to at least get a college scholarship then you have done well in my opinion. There are thousands of runners out there and the chances of becoming a professional still does not guarantee financial success. You have to try to get endorsements and sponsorship and you are one injury away from disaster. So with that pressure its easy to understand depression in this sport. You have to try to map a plan to transition after you are finished competing and that does not have any guarantees either. When you are used to the attention you get it hard to go to a normal life afterwards!

That's another thing yeah. Stop expressing your Sob story, because people will grow accustom to it and see it as a pattern. Yes. For you, it's new etc. But, if you cry, just cry in the moment and leave it at that. Don't express a sob story

Afgan has a runner. She efforts are not recognized due to the laws of the land. She's appeared in 2 Olympics. It's 1919. There is a Anglo-Afgsn treaty. There were intersex allpwed in a aegment of womens sports in the early days. There's a lot. Sadly, many will simply keep asking why and laugh at the same time.

I don’t think that they are depressed they are just reflecting on their struggles. Black women in the US get torn down the most. Crazy you mentioned Terry Bowie because now she is dead which is a prime example of all of the struggles black women have to go through. All I can say this is a direct result of integration. I grew up in BK went to HBCU, had surgery at University of Maryland hospital in Baltimore, black surgeon, black nurses, black anesthesiologist. All of my experiences were great. I find that people who are forced to grow up around non black people at an early age are very depressed. I literally had no white people at my schools my principal was black my Assistant principal was black. My principal founded Phillips Schuyler middle school for the gifted and talented which was all black public school in Brooklyn.
@Mr100kaday
@Mr100kaday 20 күн бұрын
I agree with most of what you said. I dont believe black women get torn down the most. I believe they are the most talented women so there is jealousy of them and they get alot of attention on them...so it appears they getting torn down but in reality they just are out there in media alot. For example....a huge part of white people are not even eligible to be in public eye based solely on them being poor or lower middle class. They are almost never represented in media or entertainment. Ever. But black women and men...no matter what they background is....are represented in media...with the urban blacks getting very very heavy attention. Gotta keep that in mind.
