Thanks so much for sharing my passion!! So I'll bite and pass the ball to another small builder! That would be my friend Rich who goes by the username LaoWiz. His artwork, and circuit choices to work with have always inspired me, they absolutely go hand in hand. In fact the first pedal i built was my interpretation of one of his pedals I saw. There used to be a tumblr page with all of his old etches (superglops), and whoa they were out of this world. Even still they are out of this world. I'd love to see how his pedals could be use in an ambient situation. I can't say enough good things about my friend, Rich.

thanks for making cool pedals! :D I'll definitely keep tabs on LaoWiz, looks like I already follow him on IG. Cool looking stuff! Cheers to the little guys! 🍻

Diffractor Soundings Arboretum. Very flexible stereo tremolo with a modulation circuit that you can direct at the tremolo to affect the wave form of the tremolo itself. It’s also very knobby. No menus to dive into, everything has a knob or a switch. Easy and rewarding to start exploring. ✌️😌🎸

YES! That one is GREAT! I stock it at my shop Little Box Effects; gotta get some more in!

The Quiet Theory Soundworks 'Prelude' pedal from a few years back fits the theme of the video nicely... small batches, independent builder, simple but superb sounding pedal. I hankered after one but the combined shipping and customs charges made it prohibitively expensive unfortunately. It's a great thing to have these type of builders creating unique things simply for the joy of doing so, the products aren't 'run of the mill' & are made with passion and care.

yeah! That's another great mention. Bryan's contribution to the market at that point in time was really cool. Would love to have seen more releases from QT.

2:01 LOVE BlackSkyCraft. Wonderfully unique and whimsical pedals and so kind and responsive on the business end, too.

Phil of Bleak District Electric is a fabulous fella making great pedals. He also released a single on Bandcamp as ‘If not now when.’ Both tracks are great.

yes! Love what he is doing - I think his subscription / limited run release model is so cool and am always impressed with his aesthetic and design on his pedals. Good pull!

That bit crusher on verb sounds incredible. I’m a quad cortex user so normal everyday effects are definitely not needed drives get captured So it takes a lot for me to purchase a pedal these days with that being said. Small builders definitely have a piece of my heart going back 10 years with brands like fox pedals before they got bought out etc. I’ve been really enjoying non human audio a lot lately with the slow loris a lofi slap back modulation pedal definitely is way different and does the shoe gaze thing super well.
@AmbientEndeavorsАй бұрын
For sure! NHA is doing cool stuff, I've only heard good things about the Slow Loris. And man Fox Pedals is a blast from the past. I think I had their rat circuit. Thanks for watching!

Paul Cochrane is a great fella. I actually visited Paul in 2008 and spent an afternoon with him as he built Timmys in his garage on a Sunday. People REALLY need to try his new Zephram pedal. For some reason there isn't a lot of buzz around it. Very different to be complementary to the TIM and Timmy pedals past and present.
@AmbientEndeavorsАй бұрын
Ah that's super cool! I remember back in the day you had to literally call him on the phone to order a Timmy. I know he works with Humbucker Music now pretty closely, just was always interesting how "old school" his brand was. I demo'd Zefram a couple months ago and it is really cool. A bit too mid-range'y for me but I think it's a really cool companion to the "transparent" Timmy. Hopefully it catches on! So hard to follow up literally one of the most iconic drives of the past 15 years I'm sure.

Have you tried the V3 TIM?

Very cool pedals. I’ve been fascinated by the idea of stacking reverbs since I recently added the sloer to my board. I think I favor the approach over delays especially since company’s are now combing them with other effects. What say you?
@AmbientEndeavorsАй бұрын
I’m usually a delay stacker tbh, generally run a higher mix dotted 8th into a lower mix, long repeats quarter note for more ambient and rhythmic textures. But this was a fun experiment to layer two reverb textures in stereo!
@deacondddАй бұрын
@@AmbientEndeavors Yeah, most people are. I tend to only use very light delays as I can’t really get what I’m looking for tonally with them compared to a reverb and tremolo. It’s all fun!

This isn't a mystery when they don't have website and only drop pedals on Instagram. This leads to scalpers setting the prices on these things in the used markert and making them unobtainable to people not willing to sift through everyones pet and dinner photos to see when the latest drop is. The Zoomer marketing doesn't seem like a winning formula to me and I honestly don't think a video was needed to explain that.
