Nice video; I’m sure you mean to say that V is the volume of fluid displaced by the object, for which the objects shape doesn’t matter. As adding rocks to the glass demonstrates, the heavier condition sinks deeper and takes up more space previously occupied by water. The difference in buoyancy force is that additional volume of displaced water. The volume of the rock holding container didn’t change. There are on the other hand buoyancy driven submersibles that do change their interior volume to take advantage of Archimedes Principle .
