Vanakam Swami I have just discovered your channel and have found that the video clips that I have watched to date both interesting and informative. What I enjoy most about them, is that they come in small bites and can be absorbed easily. I will definitely share the link and recommend this channel to family and friends. This particular video brings back fond memories. I remember a few decades ago, at a wedding, a priest ranting on about the stick on botu (sp) that women wear and that is why their marriages were crumbling. I've always used kumkum but earned the unfortunate nickname of "Smudge" as the kumkum was always smudged across my forehead. It was quite embarrassing when I had to go to the Reserve Bank for settlement and I had to hear Smudge shouted across the banking hall.😂😂😂 Thank you for your wonderful video clips. I look forward to watching many more. Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦 Hara Om Swami Om Namasivaya .🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

hi. is a teardrop shape marking in between the eyebrows also a tilak? because sometimes i see people have teardrop shape and on others i see a circle like a big dot and sometimes just a single straight vertical line. is there a difference in their meaning/significance and benefits?
@bholenath14213 жыл бұрын
Yes. There are many variations. About 16+ variations of the Tilak. Each Sampradaya (Spiritual Tradition) has its own variation and secret mantras that are revealed only to the initiated. Since the kind of energy in the Chakras of both Males and Females are different, to obtain the required results the Tilak is applied slightly differently in both the genders. In the Tradition of Bhagawan Shiva, the Tilak on the forehead usually has 3 lines of ashes and one vertically (There are several variations). In the Tradition of Bhagawan Vishnu, the common version of Tilak is a double vertical line with a teardrop at the end. The teardrop is in shape of a tulasi leaf. Different variations are for Different results. Hope this helps u. Jai Sanatana Dharma ☀️🚩🕉️🔱📿🦅☸️🐚🙏🙏🙏⚔️🚩⚔️ ഓം നമോ ഭാഗവതേ വാസുദേവായ നമ:

@@bholenath1421 you forgot to explain about "shaktism"(the tradition of devi(shakti) who worship devi(the mother) where all shaktism people apply round shaped tilak of any colour like red,yellow,black etc. On their forhead right in between eyebrows where there is "Aanadya chakra" it's beleive that if we put on red colour it would provide lump sum amount of heat which will cause opening of this chakra. I hope you got my point🙏

@purnesh.official5 жыл бұрын
A sticker is not a tilak. If you want to use a sticker bindi, it will not have the same benefits, it would be more of a cultural or aesthetic purpose.

@dineshthakur39722 жыл бұрын
"Haldi"(turmeric) represents or symbolizes the preferences of gods and goddesses in hinduism or in simple colours do have their own significances....so if we are applying the haldi mix with chandan or red tilak then those can provide lot of spiritual growth as they provide the heat to activate one of all chakras situated right in between your eyebrows known as "Anadhya chakra".i hope this helps🙏

I have a question...i'm not vaishnava and i'm Non-vegeterian.. So can i put tilak on forehead..?
@soumyadeeproy89363 жыл бұрын
yes you can Vaishnavism says that the body is a temple and Lord krishna is its protector so you might not be able to follow the rules entirely but you can apply tilak because they believe that by applying tilak even if you are not an ardent follower of Krishna it will initiate you into turning into a vaishnav lifestyle

There are 16+ variations of the tilak. Tilak with the dot is one of the variations.
@dineshthakur39722 жыл бұрын
The dot tilak or round shaped one symbolises the shaktism(energy). as we can see in every other sampradya (shivism, vaishnavism. Or any other as well)there is inclusion of red colour tilak which shows the shakti so shakti is important to be always there. Hope you understand 🙏🙂

there are different ways of applying tilak ....which one is best...?
@purnesh.official5 жыл бұрын
There are different styles. To apply is more important, the shape and size doesn't make too much of a difference in the effect.
@wdthompson12343 жыл бұрын
But because it may be thought to influence the pineal gland this effect has to be transdermal. Which means you could apply the creams anywhere on your body. So, putting on your forehead between you eye brows had not to do with tradition and identity and less to do with possible biological effects.
@bholenath14213 жыл бұрын
Tilak has its Spiritual Significance. And yes. Tilak is not only applied on the forehead. It depends on the Sampradaya u r looking at. There are 16+ variations of the tilak. In the Tradition of Bhagawan Vishnu, Tilak is applied in 12 different parts of the body- Forehead being only one of the 12. In the Tradition of Bhagawan Shiva, Sages apply Vibhuti all over their body. They are covered in Vibhuti. Hope this helps u. Jai Sanatana Dharma ☀️
