VERY useful video Niri and Arab Instruments team!! Short and sweet too! -- Really love the technical videos -- you've given me enough to be able to get a tone, understand maqams and the notation system, and be able to play songs in just a few months. Please have more videos like this!

Hello, how do you get the deep tones as well as the high tones with just your voice. As a novice I can only get high pitched ones.

I found when playing the nay that i only need the back hole for the lowest register. With the higher ones the hoke remains closed and i only need to blow slightly harder to get higher notes.

Hi Niri, so is the back hole basically there to allow to play the lower octave? So how many octaves can you play on a Mi-Bolahenk for example? 2 Octaves or 3? Thank you. I just bought my first ney and I'm very excited :) Thanks.

Greetings and love, please is there anyone who know where to find a plan with the frequency out of each hole for a basic kawala or ney ? I build bulgarian kavals since quite some time and I would like to try making some kaw'las and neys but Im not sure about the exact frequencies to use, thanks in advance for your help !

Thank you sooo much! I couldn't figure out how to make the last 3 notes of the low register to connect with the second. It was driving me crazy! Great video :)

Man, honestly I am so grateful for your efforts and beautiful teachings. From your video I got my first blow and now I am progressing more and more with practice and following your videos. I would always love to have more and more purely technical videos not necessarily learning songs. And I would like to ask one more thing, for some reason I felt more comfortable playing right hand up and blowing from the right side of my lips. I tried to switch to the standard left up right lip stance but I wasn't completely comfortable. I know it is preferable to change but is it okay if i stay with that position ? Thank youuu for everything
