Thank you for explaining the anhydrous and how it works, coming from the city but an avid interest in farming you explain things so even I can understand it.

I 100% agree with everything you said at the end about the quality of the Farm Focus products. I’ve ordered before and the quality is outstanding and I’ll definitely support you as well. The older I get the more I dislike ‘box’ stores and I’ll go out of my way and pay more if the quality of the product is there and it usually is!

full face respirator is a very good idea. Many use a face shield but that does not seal. I met a fellow once that had been near a hose when it burst, his puples looked like resins, all winkled and shriveled. He was of course blind. Also smart that you don't let your boys ride with you when applying.

The sand ridge is probably a little dryer. That’s why you see the puffs of gas. Dad use to side dress aqua which was a liquid nitrogen mix.

Given the price of fertilizer: is your highest yield per acre, still your highest profit margin? In other words, when does it become more profitable to NOT use fertilizer / anhydrous?

I don’t like messing with nh3 I use 28 to side dress lot safer & more expensive yes , but I like sulfur .boron & stabilizer added in mine, in my part of the county nobody uses nh3 every one is all liquid side dress here in south west Indiana

The ammonia wholesale price has gone from $1,400 to 1,000 per ton this month. It cost $200 for the hydrogen in a ton. That is mostly made from 33 MM cubic ft of natural gas. Could also be from H derived from H2O. The smoke behind the rig is super saturated water vapor. Ammonia is colorless. I know all this because I have a degree in Natural science from studying Soil Science.

On the anhydrous I knew a guy who worked at a place that sold it he got caught in a cloud of anhydrous no protection it blinded him for the rest of his life

Nathan yeah it’s me your pest lol I heard anhydrous is the dangerous kind of nitrogen. Also does sweet corn need anhydrous or nitrogen to grow? Your baby is pretty your a great dad.
@BorderViewFarms2 жыл бұрын
Anhydrous is the dangerous form of N and yes sweetcorn needs N from some source.

One question which I probably know the answer. Here it goes-- how come y’all didn’t apply before you planted the corn, etc. just curious I’ve done both ways and seems to work either.

We don't own the tanks or have our own bulk tanks.
@micah74692 жыл бұрын
@@BorderViewFarms we don’t own our tanks and we don’t have bulk storage we do own the frames. But still have the pit stop pro. I thought they filled the tanks at the top so it wouldn’t matter. Maybe you could briefly explain it in a different video if you want.
@BorderViewFarms2 жыл бұрын
Do other people not ise the same tanks you do? I guess I'm assume you have to mount stuff to the tank somewhat permanently. We can't guarantee we will get the same tanks every time as anyone who is pulling from that location can take whatever tanks are available.
@micah74692 жыл бұрын
@@BorderViewFarms oh I didn’t know you shared tanks.We have 5 doubles and one anhydrous bar. We had to mount a special hitch on all 5 frames of the anhydrous wagons, a special hitch on the pickup trucks to pull the wagons and of course the pit stop pro on the anhydrous rig. I made a recent 4 minute long video on a new KZbin channel called corn dynasty if you want to check it out. if not that’s fine also. We are located in Kentucky so there’s a lot of things we do differently I guess. Btw your videos are awesome thanks for taking time to reply to comments, and make great quality videos.
