Honestly, I'm not a fan of the word backlog when it comes to games. It has a negative connotation where playing through games you feel like you missed out on sounds more like an obligation than a genuine desire to try out something you think might be fun. Really enjoyed this video though. +1 journaling your thoughts.

I've seen folks gamify their backlog or make crazy spreadsheets to make figure out how to efficently tackle their backlogs and im just like "bro...just play a game" lol

This has me thinking more than i want to! I wasnt expecting such a deep look into why one has a backlog. But even myself now, im still picking up games ill never get around to, but hope i do. Ive found youtube a great way like yourself to learn how to appricate games more and in all honest, help make the hobbie feel more productive.

I think the backlog exists because we have reverence for the games that came before that laid the groundwork and created the ideas we take for granted today. I imagine there's probably a lot of new rap fans with a backlog of classic albums that they haven't heard yet waiting for them. It's actually a great thing to see people wanting to make sure they make time for the classics, or at the very least, wishing they COULD make the time.

@@xSaintxSmithx I wish these new kids went back and listened to doggystyle and Be. Though with gaming there is a timelessness that some games have that makes it so unique for everyone. I know so many kids that grew up playing all the Marios while I was obsessed with only sonic adventure
