My rarest item is my original 80s Reflector. It's not quite brand new in box, but it's pretty close. The box is plain white with "Transformers Camera" and a number on the front. All the weapons are still on the sprues and none of the decals have been placed. I was the first person to open the instruction packet and unfold it.

If we’re talking rare items in our collections, coincidentally also TFA, I have the Animated Nemesis Prime figure (or Optimus Prime black ver. if you wanna be pedantic about it) from the Transformers Museum event in Japan, where only 300 of the figure were produced. The Allspark Almanac officially repurposed the toy as Animated Nemesis Prime 😊

this is what the legacy version shouldve been: no fake feet, no 180 waist transformation that misaligns the stripe. only thing missing are wrist swivels and blaster peg holes for alt mode and its perfect.

I do have most of the Animated toys. I recalled getting Jetpack (Hydrodive) Bumblebee at London MCM back in the day where many stalls were selling him for £30 new, but I did pick up one that I suppose is rare as it was the only one I saw at the time, which was Wingblade Optimus Prime for £42.

I have the original Animated Bumblebee, but the heel panel ball joints eventually became loose to the point of not holding anymore. And became the ball joints are both *spring-loaded* and *essential balance points*, no amount of carefulness would keep them attached enough to still work. However, I did eventually figure out how to makeshift new ball joint tabs using globs of superglue, and it works nicely again. If you don't wanna have to do that though, I suggest to be careful with what one you buy, and ask about the leg/roof panels.

Really unfortunate some of these design cues didn't carry over to the Legacy release as the car mode is so much better for this transformation. Still debating on getting any of the Legacy Animated updates as I feel the original run was already great for the era it was released. Not sure if super rare but I do have the Animated Cybertron mode Ironhide, and Ratchet. Found them loose and bagged in a second hand toy shop as good number of years ago so I'm guessing they may have been TRU exclusives at some point here in Canada. Also the the original DOTM deluxe Berserker (I think) before the recall for obviously offensive reasons.

Legacy animated bumblebee is a representation on animated bumblebee, but it’s not animated accurate…. Which pisses me off, jet pack bumblebee is my favourite out of all 3 versions, bought him, online with out the jet pack, but I’m ok with that, just wish I had the blasters

The paint job on your hydrodive and mine/online are different specifically in the face knees and waist. Yours has black outlining the face but if you look online it doesn't along with thst your's has painted knees, but no black crest on the waist? I'm not sure what's going on, rather a custom paint job or? What's weird is your paint job actually looks like the stock images of the cancled hasbro one?

Something that I assume is rare is a weird, random, Cyberverse 4-pack, 2011 bumblebee, but only the g1 version. I also have a ss overload and mpm ironhide that I got a duplicates a while ago that I kept in it's box since my dad always told me about how he wishes he hadn't given away his old G1 figures. Not the most rare but it's something.

I think the rares figure I own is my 2001 re-issue G1 Megatron in real god condition. I also have TF Galaxy Force Optimus and Megatron in real good condition with the boxes, but I don't now if they are really rare. I also have a Cybertron Primus and Leobreaker but same with them, I don't know if they are rare.

Easy answer: because it was cancelled sooner than they were "expecting" (as in, they went full with it, but: Animated wasn't the success they were expecting when compared to the 2007 film, so they decided to scrap that last wave's release and stopped developing all future toys; and Cartoon Network didn't want to renew the show for a 4th season), and Takara got to release some of it. So, you have relatively easily available cancelled material, making it more desirable, further decreasing its availability on top of being already somewhat scarce due to relatively limited release, and you've got yourself some rare toys.
