Why Does Chelsea Want Ipswich Coach Kieran McKenna?

Since Pochettino left Chelsea, there have been a couple of names who popped up for the job. One of those names is Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna.

Nigel Adkins got promoted 2 seasons in a row with Southampton. He got sacked in his prem season and was replaced with Pochettino. I think McKenna is a huge mistake.

We used to head hunt the best coaches from europe and now we follow fads and dip into the best of the championship lol. Not just a no to McKenna but also the rest of the list.

@@victorian-dad arteta blew an 8 point lead last season. He went away to city this season and parked the bus. Lost the league by the 2 points he wouldve got if he had won at city. And you want to talk about experience??? How many season would you give McKenna or a new coach to get it right? I give them 3. Will clearlake and co give him that? No!! Theyre only offering a 2 year contract ffs. The whole thing is destined to fail. The cliches "back the manager" is not based in reality. And im a blue through and through. We don't go from the likes of carlo conte and jose to the likes of frank and mckenna. 🤦‍♂️

I'd be interested on seeing you do a video on something no one is talking about which is the DOWNSIDES of us spending 1bn so quick. Everyone is quick to say "You spent so much, you should be winning". But its a very unprecedented situation. Historically when teams have a "big" transfer window it involves them spending maybe 200-300 million on players and using them players to ADD to an already established squad. It can be maybe 1 player for 100m and 2 for 50m or 3 players worth around 60m etc. Take Man United for example. In the past few seasons they have spent a couple of hundred million but added to an already established squad with players who know each other and have played together for years such as Shaw, Dalot, AWB, Bruno, McTom, Rashford, Maguire etc. But in our case - all this money we have spent has been on an ENTIRE new squad from starting 11 to bench to reserves. Not to mention the amount we spent on youth to loan out such as Santos, Angelo, Casadei, Moreira etc. Off the top of my head I can only think of 4 players who have played more than 2 seasons together. James, Chilwell, Chalobah and Silva (who is now gone). The rest of them joined either in summer 22, january 23 or summer 23. They have had very little time to get to know each other, build a chemistry and cohesion and rack up minutes together. Adding to this they have had multiple managers with different systems/tactics and injuries disrupting their progression. All of the reasons above I think definitely explains the inconsistency of performances over the past 2 years. I think a major reason we started to click at the end of the season gone is because the time they had spent together was starting to pay off. Relationships were being built. It's not like Pochettino could have started making us play like top 4 contenders in the first few months because it was literally a team of inexperienced youngers who had played fuck all together. Again, no manager has ever come into a club like that - ever. Mourinho, Tuchel, Conte etc all came in and succeeded with us relatively quickly because there was a balanced, established squad who just needed to be coached. Not nurtured.

@TheSportsZection bro, first thing there left back leif davis he is sensational we need him Tactics wise The system is dynamic. Some games build up slowly from the back other game play longer passes forward you can see both ways in one game to I don't like position playing because sometimes you can be stopped like Manchester city against real Madrid, but when you play a dynamic system, you can change and adapt to the situation 👌 Sorry if I can't explain well. I don't like youtube comments system 🤣

Reuben Amorin all the way or bring back Poch. What EPL experience has KM got? Let alone winning mentality. Chelsea is a different galaxy of super duper stars. Then I'll say Frank Lampard would be a better fix. He was never given time. Tuchel inherited his team and won CL so he can't be bad. Besides he's a legend who is making a way in Mgmt as well.

If that's the route they are going then they need to persist with the manager for 3 seasons at least. They got rid of Tuchel and Poch too quickly. Tuchel, I understand. He was an Abramovic era manager but Poch makes no sense. If you're going for a guy who's not experienced in that level then you can't jus bin him when we don't make top 4. Coaches should not be fired before reaching 60 competitive matches in the dugout unless they suffer 5 consecutive league defeats with no likelihood of turning that form around

The owners decided to go for a different approach, they tried experienced managers tuchel poch, didnt work, under tuchel spent 400 mil on mostly flops on big wages. We need to find the right manager for the players we have nonmatter the name

Tuchel's last season at Chelsea was a disaster but believe it or not he got really unlucky. Just divorced with his wife, changes of owners and staff, had to handle the transfer, recruitment and scouting of players at the same time because there's no sporting director at that time which led to him being stressed out and lose the dressing room and everything was going downfall for him. Tbf under normal circumstances prior to the new era under the new owners, Tuchel did fairly well.

The part about Poch is an unfair statement. Poch has never had a squad with so much quality - granted it was more potential than anything else- in the premier league.

Poch already brought us to a Final and a semi final in his first season with a completely new squad filled with injuries. He would have brought us a trophy and top 4 next season. How do I know that? Look at your examples, Arsène and Sir Alex were given TIME.
