Why Does Every NFL Team Wear White Chin Straps on Their Helmets?

The NFL has had some odd rules over the years, but this one might take the cake. Did you know that it is an actual rule in the NFL rule book that all helmets must be equipped with white chin straps? With that said, why is the NFL so adamant on only allowing teams to use white chin straps? I'll be honest, I can't find a great answer other than it's a rule.

They wore colored chinstraps from the 80s to the early 2000s

it's also weird even with the explanation of it being easier to see as it contrasts with the darker helmets most teams have, but what about the teams with white helmets? wouldnt they be made to wear black chinstraps if it really was about visibility?
