It’s think it’s kind of funny how precure is infamous for having pink, blue, yellow color schemes, but this is not single season with JUST pink, blue, yellow. They always add a mid season cure that’s a different color. (Usually purple or red)

It’s because you spend half the season with just those three on all the promo materials. Usually the mid season cures are left out of the marketing to avoid spoilers. By the time the full lineup is added the hype is already winding down.

That’s why Delicious Party Precure was already hated before it even aired. Cure Summer is the first non pink lead Cure in so many years since the franchise started with Cure Black ofc people would be disappointed that they would go back to the old tradition. Cure Sky definitely made a big impact with being the first blue lead Cure, which is usually the second one

@@Yellow-ze6ix I believe, that the male Cure Kagura does indeed qualify as a true green cure, even if his Kimono has a gradient from Green to teal( however the green is most pronounced in his design). He is from the Stage Play Dancing Star Precure, which has an all male group of cures.

Gosh im so tired of pink,blue,yellow followed by the mid season purple (which im pretty sure cure majesty will be). I'd LOVE to see different hair colors too!!!! Like I don't think we've ever had a cure with white hair! or black hair with crazy highlights/hair accessories could be super cool too. I'd sell my right arm for a green cure with white hair 😭

I mean, I can definitely see why people hate it. Green is my favorite color and my leaderboard of favorite cures has every single one of them in the top, like 15. But tbh I don’t really hate the color scheme. I think at this point it’s a Precure staple! Although I don’t like how many times they all have a similar personality. Red cures are some of my favorites when it comes to personality because almost each one of them feels completely different from the rest! But purple and blue, as much as I love them, most cures feel so repetitive. Finally, I like how in Hirogaru they made an allusion to this color scheme, since wing and prism have many notes of yellow and pink respectively, while still having fresh, new colors that aren’t used that often!

Its the same waaay back in Splash Star Cure Bloom - “Golden Flower” Cure Egret - “Silver Wing” Color wise, yeah not as prominent as say with Sunshine and Moonlight from Heartcatch but still >v>;

A brown Cure would be interesting - with a couple variations in the scheme, like beige and chocolate and oak - but unfortunately, I just don't see it selling to Japanese children like pink, blue and yellow do. After all, as creative as the seasons can get, it's all about getting those sweet, sweet toy sales -_-

Personally, I really don't mind the pink, yellow and blue color scheme! It's a slight variation of the primary colors, and I feel if there has to be a trio, this scheme would make the most sense. A lot of the cures with these colors have pretty designs too! However, I do kind of get the point that it's overused. It has been used in a LOT of series and I understand that to some, it could be tiring. I, however, don't care that much about main colors. As long as the cure has interesting and unique accents/sub colors and the shade of pink/blue/yellow is refreshing, I'm fine! Although it would be interesting to see other colored cures. I personally would like to see a possibly brown colored cure. Like brown, tan, beige and the like. (Also another note, I would like another rainbow team color scheme like Smile and Precure 5. I'm really fond of this scheme, but it hasn't come back in a WHILE)

Here's my take on it based on Toei and Bandai's recent plans and announcements. Toei used to be very adherent of the Super Sentai/Power Rangers color roles in producing their shows since the Heisei period which bled over to the Precure. They generally stick to the traditional 3 member squad format with the core of Pink/White being the lead girl, Blue being the smart/reserved one, and the Yellow being the youthful/energetic member (its basically the same as 3 member squads in SS/PR). Red, Green, Orange and Violet are considered as more secondary/extra colors reserved if the precure Squad is planned as an initial 4-5 member squad or for the midseason Cure. I think we are now seeing a major shake up now in the Reiwa era as Toei's madate is to try something new and unexpected with their IPs with it now reaching to Precure. The main reason for this change is sadly due to poor toy sales of Precure for the past 3 seasons; Healing Good!, Tropical Rouge and Delicious Party!. Consider this as more of Bandai's desicion as an attept to revitilize the brand by shaking up the traditional Precure format of team member strucutres, the upcoming Otonona Percure/sequals to previous series animes and the inclusion of boys as Precure in a traditionally young girls targeted anime and merchenidise franchise.

I really like the primary color trios but I would like to see some different colors every once in a while. I understand that the pretty colors are more eye catching, especially for children, but there are so many color palette possibilities that I would love to see precure explore! 🌈

I completely agree. I like pink, blue, and yellow as a color combo, but it's just been over used in precure. I'm theorizing that it's going to be an every other year thing from now on. Healin Good was Pink, blue and yellow, then tropical rouge was a more interesting color palette, then Delicious party went back to pink, blue, yellow, (even tho I see Yum Yum as orange, I know she's officially yellow) anddd now Hirogaru sky has an interesting palette again! So I feel like next season will be Pink, blue and yellow again ... hope that made sense lol But yeah! I love seeing new colors and rare colors in a season! Or even double colors! Like 2 pinks cures in a season! (Cure Whip & Cure Pekorin / Cure Blossom & Cure Flower) I was hoping for another orange cure and Cure Wing is such a blessing! Same with white cures, love that we got Cure Summer and Cure Prism! (and I classify Black Pepper as White too!) I'm hoping for more main team green cures in the future (as everyone else is...) I love Cure Oasis and the new green cure from Dancing Stars precure, but I'd love to see another green cure as a main character in a new season!!! Also, as for the brown cure you're hoping for, while I don't think she's technically a "Cure", she is a magical girl in the precure universe; I think Pam Pam in her Okosama Lunch Dress form is the first Brown "Cure" in my heart!!

The fact that we haven’t had a black or white cure since the very first Pretty Cure confuses me. Like I know we could never replace the og queens but I’d love to see like an updated take on a Cure Black and a Cure White. Like maybe they both have iridescent hair and stuff idk 😭 I’d rather have a green cure than a mid purple or red cure atp

I'm coming from the future and I really like the fact that Toei is getting more diverse, we are moving away from the same concept of "Pink, Blue and Yellow" for example, in Wonderful precure, we still have a Pink cure as the leader, but the colors changed, now we have a Pink-Purple-Blue-Green (or turquoise) cuartet

This is exactly my thoughts. It's seriously been repetitive and no one can make me take my words back but I think that Toei is seeing that viewers of like forgetting most of colours except for popular one. This IS also the main reason why we don't get much green cures: Green is considered unpopular among girls because of things they don't really like. And by that I mean normal green not like cyan that is mix of blue and green. And I'm really sad that Toei got stuck on purple since I understand it's popularity but! Can we bring red more often. If green isn't will given a chance then why wouldn't Toei and Bandai used red or any other colours (expect for black and grey)? Is they lazy or something?

I wanna see so many more colors in Precure too! And what if they switched up the cliche personality traits for the colors? Let me explain, usually colors like the pink/blue/yellow trio have similar personalities. What if they made it so the pink cure behaves like a blue cure, the yellow one behaves like a pink cure etc. I hope I made sense. I'm also sorta new to precure (got into it with Hirogaru Sky this year) and I gotta admit I'm gonna be impatient for the midseason cure every year lol.

Pink, Blue, Yellow is an obvious choice for team colours starting out because (surprise) primary colours go well together. I never knew this was a thing people hated, I always love to see what colours they start out with of course, but it never once thought that the primary coloured starting trio was a bad thing.

talking about how the colors should be categorized, it could also leave to another debate that i find interesting why they don't ever separate the blue cures from the cyan cures?? and i know some people may be confused and say "that's just a different shade of blue wdym" but if you look at a chromatic wheel, or yk, just search a list of colors, cyan and blue are 2 distinct colors, not just some "light" or "dark" blue thing (it would also lead to the "azure" category, but thats another story XD) there's some cure that could totally be labeled as cyan: Cure Marine Cure Princess Cure Ange btw, i guess they just don't do something like this because it would pretty much limit their blue color schemes and creative freedom lol😂

I have a kinda similar group but instead of pink as the lead it’s red. So their all the primary colors. And the mid season cure is white but also uses a little bit of the colors the rest of the cures use (red, blue and yellow).

To be honest, Cure Parfait is more Cyan to me than Green, you were right that Cure Sunny is a orange cure, the wiki says that Cure Finale is gold but I'd call her a purple cure! I love seeing 2 cures with same colors (for example: 2 pinks: Heartchatch's Cure Blossom and Cure Flower, Kira Kira's Cure Whip and Cure Pekorin and 2 purples: Hirogaru sky's Cure Majesty and Cure Noble) And also, Most of the people say Shiny Luminous is yellow but I realized Shiny Luminous is more pink for me because she's wearing a pink dress! *Sorry for being late btw*

I don't hate the colors; in fact Pink is my favorite one BUT i agree that there's a lot of Pink, Blue and Yellow Cures. We got 3 green ones; March, Mint and Felice. Three White, Cure White, Egret and Rhytm. Two oranges; Sunny and Wing. It's not much compare to all the pink and yellow. There's a lot of purple and red Cures too 🙂 I would like to see a team with a Green and a silver cure. It's a long time we didn't have a duo. Last was Miracle and Magical untill Felice join them. I would love to see the fairies in couple; one boy and one girl. Maybe the green cure could be a guy and the silver a girl? We never have a boy/ girl duo before. There's Butterfly and Wing but i won't say no to another one. I hope we'll get more green in the futur!

I honestly never cared for the PreCure color thing tbh. Maybe it's because pink is my favorite color and it usually always ends up being the Lead Girl anyway, idk. I care way more about the quality of story telling and character driven stories in the series. It's why I hold the older seasons in higher regard. The last of the newer seasons I watched from start to to finish was Tropical Rouge and I was very disappointed in it. I didn't even bother with Delicious Party as that Narrator got annoying so fast, not even two episodes in. I get it's a show for little girls but it's almost insulting how much that narrator would explain everything going on in the show. I sadly was too busy with community college and such to watch Hirogaru Sky as it was airing, but I plan to see it as it's the only Post-Healin' Good, modern PreCure season that actually piques my interest.

When I think of spices I think of reds and oranges with herbs being green. Cure Spicy should have been red with ascent color being green. Cure Yum could of stayed yellow with orange. Overall that season was blah.

I mean i'd hate pink, Blue, and Yellow cure teams if there weren't so many times where the trio didn't play off each other perfectly. My favorite Cure Team is smile and I'd watch a series that was all about Happy, Beauty, and Peace... Sunny and March are a duo I could take or leave. I'll give you that it's overdone but hey I'm not gonna knock the trio that gave me my favorite trio... Me and my gf are always raging about what we call "pink cure supremacy", esp in the end theme/transformation easter egg bit of Hirogaru Sky!!! Like there's only so many all-pink character designs out there and it gets old REALLY fast . I havent seen most seasons so cures like Melody all blur into each other for me (just visually speaking). I think they keep following the color scheme of the rainbow or themes that categorize to all Pretty Cures The lead was Pink because the Pink has pure heart and strongest among the members but it was break by Hirogaru Sky the leader is Blue Cure Sky, pink Precure is Butterfly the White is Prism I like the color Schemes it also break by Tropical Rouge, Cure Summer is White, Cure Coral is Purple Cure Papaya is Yellow the Trio main is good that they keep changing the outcomes of the colors, Smile Pretty Cure also breaks it behalf of Pretty Cure 5 Go, The Pink, Orange and Yellow is the trio... The last will be Blue Precure to transform... They keep following also the patterns of Quadro colors Pink, Blue, Yellow and Purple I hope they have plenty of green cures and orange to showcase the trio... ❤️

I think purple is a really pretty color and I love Cure Coral's design, I mean like would like more color variations for mid seasons cures.. I would like to classify cure finale as an rainbow cure, though Im certain she's purple
