Chelsea released De Bruyne, Salah and Lukaku, all of which deserved more time, Salah was argubly elite in his season at Roma before joining Liverpool.

That is far from the only thing. Gravenberch has considerable potential but he hasn't even been a consistent contributor in the Eredivisie. Ajax supporters are used to young talents leaving for bigger leagues but there is near universal agreement that Gravenberch is not even close to being ready for such a move.

Never would defend Raiola hiis practices but he doesn't make any decisions inside Ajax so you can't blame him for any damage, rather blame dickpic-sending Overmars. They started to spend money like crazy again, while in the past it almost costed the club. Cruyff needed to come back to show them that it isn't about the right players but about the right mindset and tactical education so you'll have the most influence on all factors of the game. Gravenberch is the perfect example of an athletic talent with a strong more learned ability to take the initiatives and spatial awareness so you always are able to outnumber the opponent during all situations in the game.

Best for him would be to upgrade his contract and sign two more years. Prove his worth in Europe like De Jong, De Ligt and Van de Beek did. You even see them not making the perfect growth after as it is hard to adapt to another club culture. When a bit older he would be able to succeed easier at other clubs as you have more personality yourself and he is also defensive a bit more complete. I think he is a very modern midfielder and is able to play in all kinds of competitions at different of clubs. He could play as easily for Barca as for Real, for United as for City, and Bayern as Borussia, because he's pretty much an allrounder. In that sense, a same-like career like Wijnaldum, despite his PSV days, wouldn't be a disgrace for him.
