I like your graphic of the radius it illustrates one of many concepts guitarists are taught erroneously. It isn’t a measure of the radius it is a measure of the arch of the circle more accurately a cross section of it.

Why single pickups doesn't have screw pole pieces that we can raise or low ? Only a few dimarzio have this option. I don't care about vintage or tradition.

Leo Fender actually asked the same question. Then he invented the MFD pickups on G&L guitars. It is a great idea.

thanks for this video. how can you change the pole configuration? (or does it mean you need to buy new pickups?)

I believe it’s possible to flatten the poles (either by pressing them down or filing the tops off), but it carries a risk of damaging the coils. It’s not a risk I’d be willing to take. Plus, those modifications wouldn’t be reversible if you decide it sounded better before.

Us and some mexico Fender has a WRONG POLE SPACING! incredibly, the Squiers on the other hand have the strings perfectly aligned on the center of the poles. There's little use worrying about the height of the poles when they are barely below the string...

Been playing 62+ years, mostly Fenders. I'll take flatpoles, personally. Jazzmasters are flatpoles. Telecasters are flatpoles. Most of my Catastrasters are very close to being flatpoles. I like 'em that way! I don't want to have to scale back the power of my pick hand to keep from blasting wonkies!!

Modern guitar strings are nickel wound no need for stagger poles

I bet thet if you swap video and audio in those takes everybody in the comment section would say the same. So much imagination and useless blahblah in the world of electric stringed instruments.
