Dear Katie, I’ve been there many times. I’m nearly 70 now and life has been really hard. The Lord has brought me through so many fires and it was pretty grim BUT GOD. It will be worth it in the end. You will get there holding His hand and letting Him carry you at times. Keep calling on Him. Put the armour on daily. Choose to forgive and stand on His Word however difficult things are. We are running in a tough race. Don’t compare yourself with others. This is the Lord strengthening you however daft that sounds. He only allows His children to be honed to become diamonds and melted to remove the dross. It’s horrid but He has you in His hand. The Lord bless you.

Since my son passed away a year and a half ago, I have been praying so much i get up so early in the morning to pray I pray at night and at any time. I read my Bible after, and I can't concentrate. I feel like he doesn't listen to my prayers ; I know he does; I put my trust on him ,he gives and takes away, I Iove him the same, and I know he has a plan an a future for me and my family Heaven! Well stated as I went through a near death experience, and God spoke to me and said I’m not taking you, you have work to do. After 88 days in the Hospital and many hours of rehabilitation, I’m home and walking again and sharing about Gods healing for my life. He healed me from Sepsis, Pneumonia,Rabdo, Renal, and a kidney infection with a kidney stone that had to be surgically removed! God is good and our difficulties strengthen us, and prepare us for our purpose to serve the Lord and to spread the love of Gods word.

I’m a young Christian (under 15) and this was much needed because I had full hope trust and faith in god until a couple weeks ago things started going downhill and I started doubting gods existence but then watched churches prayed and read bible verses once that got outta the way I gotta trial I’m in it right now but now I know what it is. I think I'm going to try the baptist church when the lockdown is over. They have woman's groups and bible studies and it seems the best choice. As a disabled veteran I deal with limitations both physical and mental that make me not able to serve God the way others are able to do and enjoy. I have prayed for healing and deliverance, but God still sees fit to leave me in the situation. I know my attitude is the key to my survival and my testimony. With the current pandemic that’s going on, COVID-19. It seems like we’re all being tested by God. I know that this pandemic has brought us hardship and pain, but God will never abandon us during the pandemic. And he’ll give us the answer to our prayers such as a vaccine and a cure. I underwent a hardship during the pandemic. This past June, I lost my primary health care physician to the pandemic. The death was emotionally devastating. Did I give up on God? I just a couple weeks ago read "The Hiding Place" the story of Corrie Ten Boom and family, it was a form of healing for me and I also recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it. It's good you're looking for help. I smoke for a long time and I promised myself I would quit and that lasted about four days and then I just told God I was going to quit and I immediately quit and had no more cravings. Praise the Lord he always forgives sins he sent Jesus to die to pay for your sins. He will never leave you and he will never forsake you. His love for you is way without measure. Never lose hope your life is not over yet.

I love Greg Laurie! Great speaker! I think it is a fascinating title for a sermon. The idea that God "allows" trials is very fascinating! I don't think God allows trials, trials don't pop across His heavenly desk and He looks them over and says, "Yeh, This looks good!" and then stamps it with His approval. Trials will happen because we live in a fallen universe with free agents both human and angelic that make choices that impact us and the universe. God is the solution to your trial, the anchor for your soul, the one who works all things together for your good! He wouldn't have to work with it if it was His will. God loves you so much and it is very difficult to trust God in trial if you hold to a contradictory belief that says the One you are to trust is also the one who put this hardship on you. God doesn't allow trials, they happen for various reasons, but God does promise to deliver you and work it all out for your good! Praise Jesus!

God allowed Job's trials, and even asked Satan to 'consider him' because of his character; and Satan's power over what Job had. God is still God in the midst of our trials, and we are instructed to trust Him especially when He allows us to go through trials and hard times - because He is still in control of the universe in the grand scheme of things (even where He has allowed Satan dominion) and He wants to draw us near to Him in these troubled times.

@@JamesJones-vt5nn Yeh Job is an interesting book. It is heavily poetic and also it is a piece of wisdom literature. I personally don't believe it is historical at all. I believe it was crafted by the author to deal with the issue of "Why the Righteous suffer?" The theology reflects the ancient hebraic view of sovereignty in which everything, every event good or bad, was God ordained. We see this mindset in the story of Saul. Saul disobeys God and to the Hebrews, the author Samuel in particular, God sent a demon to terrorize him (1 Sam 16:14). Yet when we see who God truly is in the person of Christ we see Jesus casting devils out of people and not putting them into them. He heals the sick and doesn't bring sickness upon them. Jesus is the word, meaning He is the embodiment of the heart and will of God expressed perfectly, and only through Him can we see clearly who God is. Remember the Bible is inspired, thus fallible human agents were enlisted to create a literary portrait of God's redemptive plan. So the authors were also writing not merely under the inspiration of the Spirit but from their own perceptions, worldview, and so on. This means anything prior to Christ has the potential to have spurious theological assertions, such as in Job. If we compare the depiction of God in Job to that of Christ we clearly have some problems. In Christ God opposes the devil, thwarting him and liberating his prisoners, while in Job we see God provoking him and willfully endangering a human life. This is inconsistent and would render our understanding of God incoherent unless we use Christ as the standard and interpret the OT in light of the perfect revelation of God. So I don't take the Job depiction of God and suffering as a worthy depiction of God, rather I understand it to be inspired, but the thrust of the book is heavily influenced by an incomplete theology of God put forward by and ancient hebrew author who was wrestling with God and suffering. Christ must be our standard.
