Or you could try find the answer to his delay in the text: he needs to determine if the ghost is telling the truth, he can't kill Claudius while he is praying (as he doesn't want to send his soul to heaven) and he needs to lay low after killing Polonius.

Funstuff13613 sorry, you clearly didn't understand the play. Hamlet makes up excuses--if he really puts every other volume from his mind and leaves only the revenge as his singular mission in life, as he promised to do, nothing should deter him. Those are Hamlet's excuses, they're not the reason he delays.

Sorry Margaret you clearly don't understand Shakespeare, his work is multifaceted as are his characters.

Plus Margaret, in the words of John Kerrigan, hamlet never actually promises to revenge, only to remember.

Or is it just that Shakespeare didn't know how to make the play longer so he just made him delay it until it was a propper lenght. You are telling me that he couldn't kill a person that deserved it the most but kills three people like it's no big deal are you FUCKING DUMB

What a great take on Hamlet!

Peter Grieco in case you are continuing to watch, and using this to study, this is not a great take on hamlet, he is being sarcastic. But if your not studying, it’s still quite interesting.

You lost my interest 5+ minutes in, as the bulk of the argument has little to do with Shakespeare's text at all. Deceptive title.
