More detailed story: Kotoha, Inosuke's mother, was in an abusive family until upper moon 2 Douma came along and murdered the entire family, rescuing Kotoha and Inosuke. Kotoha at this point had no clue that Douma was a demon, and he took a special liking to the two. She joined his cult, meanwhile he had no plans of eating her, instead wanting to keep her around until she inevitably died of old age. One day, she discovered he was a demon and booked it, leading him to chasing her down to kill her. She threw baby Inosuke off of a cliff into a river so that he would have the smallest chance of survival, and then got eaten by upper 2.
