in manga data and in the manga itself. kokushibo when he was turned into a demon, he himself decided to put on the 6 eyes, since demons can also modify his body but not at the muzan level. The 6 eyes give Kokushibo 360 vision that allows him to see everything around him, each eye being accompanied by transparent world vision and strategically placing them on his demon sword as well. The thing about his death when he saw his reflection was because he stopped fighting, since when he saw himself he realized that his dream of reaching his brother had moved away from him and he had only become a monster, in the end he did not achieve anything, only he abandoned and left everything he already had, his story was also inspired by the Japanese myth of amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, amaterasu goddess of the sun-yoriichi. Tsukuyomi goddess of the moon- michikatsu/kokushibo.

Gyokko is based off fish, he’s called the fish demon. There are a lot of fish with weird eyes like flatfish who have both eyes on one side and hammerhead sharks who only see to the sides. they probably also needed a short battle for Tokito so they don’t give fish man a backstory and make him on the more hated side(even though i’m a fan of him) so he’s absolutely ignored.

Then you trained for 4 years and you finally awaken the mark at age 24. But you were dead even before could reach age 25. Isn't it so annoying? lol BUT...in Himejima's case, he got the mark at age 27, the curse only said anyone who got the mark will die before age 25, the question is how long exactly you can wield the mark before it kills you? Himejima eventually died after the battle, is it because the curse's already due that makes him dead so soon he can't even live for one more day? What about other Hashira? Not sure if authors intention, but with many of the samurai practicing Buddhism, and in Buddhism there are six senses: seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, feeling, and consciousness. Additional there is the notion of whether you sense these things internally or externally. 6 eyes to defend against six swords To allow him to defend more attacks and it could also be tied into the skill that flys have. Because they have more eyes they are able to observe everything in slower motion.. which is why it is often hard to hit a fly. Leading into as well as backing up why he has survived so long and remained a business partner of Muzan rather than an underling to Muzan (Muzan vs Kokushibo would be a cool fight to watch however it is unlikely because they both have the same goal at heart.)

I like the thought that it’s either his way of always being able to use the see through vision (since his brother was born with it and he always wants to be more like him), or that Muzan made him look like that so he wasn’t reminded of his brother

Always thought that was his way to see the transparent world like his brother, requiring more eyesight to accomplish something his brother was able to do normally even as a child. Further solidifies Kokoshibo's character that he is extremely powerful but always lived in his brother's shadow.

I’m pretty sure it’s because Yoriichi was able to access the see-through world. Michikatsu couldn’t and when he became a demon he was granted access to the see-through world via his extra eyes. The 6 thing was a good theory tho, since Yoriichi is so fast he moves like there’s 6 arms there and Kokushibo has 6 eyes.
