I honestly LOVED this game (still have it along with the 1st part) and thought it was just as enjoyable. Better graphics, better character models, bigger/more expansive levels, street levels (a complaint that people had with the 1st part), more web based powers (electric and ice webbing), more combos, more variety in the missions and objectives, more/new suits to unlock, bosses took a bit more effort to defeat, etc. I also really like the contrast of how part 1 takes place mostly in the day time while part 2 takes place mostly at dusk/night. I think my only real complaint is that like the 1st part it has 6 villains (Lizard, Shocker, Beetle, Sandman, Hammerhead and of course Electro), but you only get to fight 5 of them as Beetle, while working with the other villains, was regulated to cut scenes. Wish they would have had him as a boss battle as well. Regardless, I think Vicarious Visions did a very solid job with the sequel and in my opinion it's both underrated and underappreciated.

Enter electro is amazing. The sunset skyboxes are so beautiful with their lush, gradient orange-purple colors. It captures nostalgia almost more-so than anything else, in any other game I’ve ever played. Same goes for that skybox in the train-station levels- the aesthetics are just so pretty. I always remember my imagination being captured as a child when I first played, and saw it. Plus, the create-a-spider, the tons of bonus content- there was so much to love about enter electro. Severely overlooked.

The Spider-Man movie based seems forgotten to me. I consider both the PS1 Spider-Man games, and the first movie based game important for the evolution of all Spider-Man games, past the year 2000. Without those entries, we probably wouldn't have Spider-Man 2 and every other game that proceeded it.

I LOVED the first one, man, I think its the best spiderman game ever made. This game really didnt do it for me. There is one glaring difference between this and the first……..its the atmosphere. The music for example is just very dark, moody and basically a 5 second neverending loop. The first one was silent and when the action kicked in those cool gitar riffs game. Speaking of dark, the whole game is just dark and moody. I dont know if the developers went for a moody game but that music is just so out of place here. I also missed the cool interactions between spiderman and black-cat and venom for example. I think this game misses the hearth and soul of the first game. The developers had so much passion for the first one. This is just a whole different “feel” for me. The first is really a 10/10 game.

I share your concerns with the villains. That was my biggest problem too, but for slightly different reasons. Electro didn't sound too gravely. In fact, he sounded too whiny like a spoiled brat, so I had a tough time taking him seriously. I also felt cheated out of the Beetle fight. He shows up to steal a briefcase (which confusingly gets stolen six times by each villain wearing the same disguise as Electro) and then vanishes without explanation. But the big issue was the villain's plot. In the first game, Doc Ock wanted to use the Symbiotes to rule his own dystopian world order, a plan crazy enough to get Carnage to work with him. It was creative and used elements of spider-man in a new way, while also giving us a new horrifying villain in Monster Ock, Doc Ock infected with Carnage's Symbiote. The other villains all join in for their own reasons, from money to killing a specific foe. Electro? He wants to become a god. Other villains? Just want his money. His newest form? Becoming electricity itself. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

The only major improvement to this game was the fact that the character models had individual fingers instead of block hands. They should remaster these and maybe add some bonus content.

I grew up playing Spiderman 2000 on the dreamcast and it was a blast. I didn't play enter electro until my adulthood right after high school and i still liked it. These games have inspired me to collect the comics that you can collect in game and I'm almost done with the collection just need a few more from both games!

This is one of those games even those who played it have a hard time remembering. It’s one of those weird sequels that didn’t release on as many consoles as its predecessors so fewer people know about it. This is a random example but Rampage Through Time, the sequel to Rampage 1 and 2, fits this description. It only released on PSX and people don’t seem to bring it up at all when talking about the other 2 games.

I enjoyed Spider-Man 2000 more than the second installment. But I think Enter Electro was a good game however it got overshadowed quickly with the release of the movie based game on PS2 shortly after.

Most of the costumes are boring (except for those that came back from the first game), the bosses are ordinary, most of the levels are boring (compared to the first game) and some levels kill your nerve cells.

Because the world is sadly and very unfortunately infected with a huge gigantic massive plague that causes most people to only care about new things, and they either hate or forget about anything older than just few years. It's an absolute tragedy that so very few people in this world actually care about old things as much as new things and treat them equally and want to preserve them for people in the future to be able to experience as well. I never see anybody else but myself in the comments advocating for the historical preservation of old games. It's mind-boggling the fact that all gamers aren't rallying and rioting constantly harassing game developers to stop abandoning their old games. We all need to keep telling them that their old games still need to be accessible, they need to keep selling these games and remastering them so they're available for new people to experience. They need to keep manufacturing these games and keep selling PS2s and N64s and NESs and Gameboys so all these amazing games can still be played. The more time goes on the more these games disappear, the more damaged they become, the more the price goes up on ebay. But no matter how much I keep saying this over and over every day nothing improves, it only gets worse so why bother wasting my time continuing to type...

For me, I think its because of the lack of memorable story elements, characters and environments. A big gripe I have was enter electro lacked the villains that made the first game great. 1 had scorpion, rhino, mysterio, venom, carnage, and doc ock who are all classic spidey rogues we all know. Enter electro had some great bosses but there were too few. I really think they should have added kraven and vulture as well to spice things up. However the environments in enter electro are a bit better, such as having whole sections of New York where you can go on the ground

No. All the bosses here are still very famous rogues in Spidey's gallery of villains and they made complete sense being used as they weren't in jail at the end of the 1st game.

2:09 There was at least one new web attack I remember: the one-armed web ball. It was pretty cool. Also, you can modify your web in the later levels with electricity and I think maybe a couple other things.

It's a shame there wasn't a third game to close the saga and with a sinister six And I expected some villains from this game like: Green Globin Main villain Secondary villains: Hobglobin Black cat Kingpin The Rose Son of Kingpin The Enforcers Alistair Smythe And your robots hunt spiders Man-Wolf (Jameson's son) Morbius Vulture Kraven the Hunter Chameleon Hydro-man Jackal With the clone saga The return of Sandman And finally Beetle Secret villain And all the villains from the previous 2 games return A shame it will never happen.. 🥺😔 like and Bye!

As much as I loved the first 2 games on PS1, I had no idea why I never played any Spidey game on PS2 except PS3 since I don't have one. So by the time I played Spiderman 2018, I was completely blown away how the game improved in all aspects.

I think this one is just generally less polished. The bosses and characters are introduced with little build up. Although there is variety in the levels and bosses fights mechanically, it felt like there was less reason to use the web powers.

Think this sp2 the better game than the first, but not much. Spiderman seems to be fluently now as he web shot during a jump. More costumes and detail. Difficulty is bit easier than the first.

Looking back, it is a pretty good game. But I think little things are what made it fall flat to some gamers. Mostly level designs. Spidey having to track down keys to a bomb, stopping an airplane, and that ridiculously high tower you have to climb to reach Conners’ lab. Plus, I would rather Beetle have been been a Boss-fight over Hammerhead. but ultimately, I liked the game ok.

I loved both games as a kid. I'd say yes, the first one is the better of the two but I thoroughly enjoyed them and have fond memories of both. I'd have loved a third game with Green Goblin, Kraven, and maybe even a villain or two of another heroes to spice things up. No reason Spider-Man can't fight Bullseye or Ghost or whoever with the help of Daredevil or Iron Man.
