I don’t want to see Waluigi in Smash (I don’t think he’s that great a character, or even a good character since almost nothing is done with him) but I agree that the argument that there isn’t enough to make a move set for him doesn’t work when have had characters with less to go on than him.

Yah I never saw anything going on like that either. Only people who were upset over his lack of inclusion, and fans especially throwing insults back and forth about excuses about why he should have or should have not been included in smash. That was all I saw. And the excuses to not include him in smash, were just downright stupid in my op. He doesn't have his own game. He doesn't have this. He doesn't have that. Yada yada yada. Like waluigi fans do not care. They want him in smash really bad. That is the bottom line. And I personally think he should be in smash. When Sora was announced as the last new character in Smash, many people were upset that it wasn't Waluigi. I can't help but genuinely ask them.....why? Since the very beginning, Waluigi was an obligation. He merely exists purely because Mario has Luigi, hence Wario "needed" a Brother. A mere extension that didn't really improve anything and thus, became a personification of filler and then a joke. I can already see the contributions Sora potentially could bring to Nintendo and Square-Enix (and Disney). What has Waluigi EVER contributed to the Franchises as a whole? The main thing that annoys me about all this is, "fans" aren't seeing the bigger picture past their own Jones for the Jokes. Until Nintendo decides to give him more purpose and give him his own game, these people would do better to stop throwing their toys out their pram, before they hurt fan reception as a whole.

It's simply more that Waluigi himelf isn't the top of Mario franchise when it comes to priority, and Nintendo can just legally go with more unused franchises instead of the middle-tier characters from an old franchise. I know Waluigi has big potential, but what people need to ask to NIntendo is giving Waluigi more spotlights and precense in games, so that people can agree that he is equivalent with Mario, Peach and Bowser and he is his own character.

Fun fact: Did you know that the rule of assist trophies not becoming a fighter was broken in smash 4? Yep, apparently little mac was an assist trophy back in either melee or brawl. (Idk, I can't remember.) Whenever he was revealed as an assist trophy, he was then revealed as a full-fledged fighter in smash for 3ds and Wii u.

My honest opinion about this is that they should replace piranha plant as an assist trophy and make Waluigi a playable character because piranha plant is just a regular Mario enemy which Waluigi isn’t. It would be like them adding a Koopa as a playable character. Not only that but they should make Waluigis rejection powers from Smg4 canon by making a game that shows a little bit of Wario and Waluigis backstory so he has some uniqueness to himself. Maybe that game would show how much more popular Wario was than Waluigi which made him feel rejected and get his powers. Is there anyone who agrees with my opinion?

Waluigi is a filler character he has no backstory.

He was introduced in Mario tennis just to be an rival for Luigi and an extra character to play as, It wasn’t intended for him to have his own backstory or anything which I think is stupid considering that Wario had some games only based on him and he even was a final boss in Super Mario land 2

Hes probably not in the game because the minute he is added he is no longer special. No longer an outcast, just another character in the roster. Waluigi is just free advertising and publicity for Nintendo.

I've wondered some don't like Waluigi because the character. But there isn't much to go off of character wise, my thing is why not give him a chance in a game outside multiplayer games. Making him the hero or the villain, if they can do so out of Wario I know they could for the lanky purple man. And if it flops then fine all understandable right to say the character sucks.
