I personally think that the hands of Knucklehead are actually instead stone "gloves" that they made themselves. To make small figurines, you'd have to have smaller, more delicate hands. To have moss the hands must mean that they don't move, which would make sense because they're stone... which don't move.

I also have an idea on how the mask works, maybe it is similar to a protective shell, and the young knucklehead starts it’s life within a tree, eventually bursting out, but part of the tree’s bark remains with it?

The egg implies that the Knucklehead is in a plant/tree *WHEN IT STILL HASN'T EVEN HATCHED YET.* And this is a big problem, because you can't say the egg is laid in a plant similar to how some animals lay their eggs in certain spots/areas, since the egg is already in the wooden plant thing as soon as it pops out of the Breeding Structure, and the Breeding Structure is basically just a weird monster GMO machine. Perhaps its eggshell appears similar to wood and the Knucklehead recycles its eggshell to make its mask? But then how does its eggshell grow as it ages? The egg is significantly smaller than the Knucklehead itself.

I genuinely love this monster biology episode (as shown in last stream) and the demented spider-monkey thing got me gone silly for a while! It’s also super cool how the knucklehead could be triboluminescent! All in all, top-tier video (no bias because of knucklehead trust me) and also yeah, i gots an msmdraw idea stranded in my head: #msmdraw: Stogg and rare stogg cosplay as Oatchi and moss! Just a small quick theory, maybe the rock like hands are actually gloves it uses while singing! It's hands would be smaller to fit in the glove, allowing it to more precisely sculpt and stuff.

i think knucklehead is a pineapple because the leafs are light green (like every pineapple) and the shape of the head. Then look at the egg: The leafs pertrude from a small base and become larger. This is my theory. Oh, and the arms are brown because they're rotten and don't have a PROTECTIVE MASK like the head. and the hands, you explained them super good.
