Kevin is a butt. That whole level felt so wrong, like he made zero space for the person moving in. I felt like I was being forced to conform to what little space he had left (including shoving the diploma/degree under the bed). Bad vibes.

When I had to put the diploma/degree under the bed I paused, stared at the screen, and felt so sad… in the black transition screen I saw my huge frowning reflection lol

honestly i went into the accessibility settings and disabled the puzzle solving part of the game for that level because i could not be bothered to "find the right spot" for some of the books... because i could barely think of an open spot anyway!

You made your life harder on this a few times by missing spaces you could put things like window ledges or on top of the fridge and stuff. But in particular in the last place the item you unpacked right after the ukulele was a stand so you could place the ukulele on the floor and free up shelf space. Anyways was fun to watch, deff need a part two! You gotta finish the story.

Like the decoration and the feeling of “lore” with the years changing and all. I really enjoyed playing this game but I always super impatient with it because I too like to dump out all my boxes first and then put everything away. I need to SEE ALL THE THINGS. I grew up right around when this game was set (born in 87) and it’s so cute how accurate some of it is to my own experiences.

The invention drawing of the toilet paper roll shows the toilet paper going over, not under. So you are absolutely correct, that is the right way haha. I've actually turned a roll around in a friends house before because it bothered me so much xD they didn't notice

I'm not sure if anyone has said this in the comments, but if you go to your settings in game, you can turn off the flagging, and have free roaming of unpacking. I play the unflagged version all the time to get motivated to organise my own spaces😊

I've played this game about 9 times on Xbox (its free with game pass) and it's so cozy but after playing it the second time I actually got thr story and it's so cute n sad :') also, yes it is fully unhinged for you to put everything in a pile and then sort. Personally, I pack everything in boxes that are labeled so it's organized🤭

The toilet roll under is so annoying to use.. The paper is either too flat against the wall or the end of the roll ends up behind the roll and you need to find it first.. Never have those issues the other way around. Anyway😂... This game is so fun! I should buy this. The story is definitely a plus for me😊

From what I've seen about this game, I feel like....while it does give you freedom of sorts, it still has designated places for these items. I thought it had more room for things. I know certain places are made that way, but..... ...In addition, the "random things in random boxes" like how you dig up bathroom stuff while unpacking bedrooms? That'd probably annoy the heck out of me. it looks amazing though, and maybe I'd buy it if I could get over those things. Maybe I just don't know how to organize like a regular person.

One of the strangest claims in Unpacking was sometimes some items have to be moved even if they are meant to be there. For example I have this oversized diploma and in a study/bedroom there was no place for it so I hung it in the bathroom since it’s the only reliable space I can find. Then the game tells me that the best place was to hide the diploma under a bed. And also there are a few photos on a corkboard then suddenly the game tells me I must put them somewhere else.
