Every winter, Japanese bass fishermen catch giant bass on a specific technique/action at night. Today, I go over this amazing technique and why it is so vastly utilized for catching big bass! The yotamaki technique is something you don't want to miss in your bass fishing!

We actually do have wakasagi in the US. California introduced them into several reservoirs and the Delta, not knowing that they were a separate species from the Delta Smelt.

I’ve been obsessed with figuring out, why they have this success at night in Japan on Biwa, for a few years now and this answered it. I utilize this technique a lot in the early spring and all through fall to catch some of my biggest bass of the year. I’ve tried in winter, but with how cold it is, it seem most of the bait are not up shallow here. That’s probably the missing link. That’s dope you may get to move to Japan and experience it all first hand. I love the Japanese style!

Yes we have have wakasagi in California...it is called the pond smelt. The california delta has them. And some highland reservoirs have them,Folsom Lake,Lake Oroville,Lake Shastina,Spaulding reservoir. And they spawn and go up tributaries and rivers and make there way to other reservoirs that is how they are expanding! Thanks for the interesting video. Also am intrigued by Japanese bass fishing! Alot of staple techniques are derived from Japan. They are meticulous, the fish have an enormous amount of fishing pressure that we couldn't comprehend. The Japanese really understand bass fishing and know their shit!

I've been doing this for years with the Toxic WNC in grass lakes down in Texas. Reel down to get the bait on bottom and then slowly tick through the grass tops and hard bottom spots.

I went out over the weekend and tried the Tiny Klash and K9 for the first time. It was two days after very heavy rain and flooding, so it was extremely muddy and cold. Didn't get any bites, but I did try out a few different lip/tail combinations and learned how to fish them. I realized pretty quickly I need to get some board weights. As a matter of fact, that reminds me I need to order some right now.

Have not yet had any success at night on that style bait yet. But learned along time a go big bass bite at night for sure. Have got some monsters on top water and even worms at night. There is a lake here in Virginia called crater lake all the tournaments are at night and they bite it is crazy. You can't catch a bass there in the day. They use black lights on there boats to see and are open tournaments show up pay and get on a boat. Any way go throw that thing at night and hold on. Late.
