Back when demand was high for PS5’s, Sony said to offset demand they would increase production of PS4’s. Some speculated this was due to the fact PS4’s use parts which were more readily available than whatever is needed to make a PS5

Affordability is a large point with what they're doing, yes to the outside it may look expensive but factor what you're getting. In my country, cod is 90$ so getting that and a 1tb storage drive is pretty worth to me. (Also with a simple screwdriver set the slim is easily the most comfortably maintainable console)

It's similar to the ladder strategy in theaters where there isn't much difference in price between the medium and large popcorn, with not much price difference demand for ps5 will always be high and even though they are manufacturing ps4s that expense will be outweighed by ps5 sales.

Because some people just don't have the budget for a ps5 yet. The cheapest ps5 you can get is a 400$ digital one, but in this bundle you can get a ps4 and cod mwII (that would cost 60$) for 330$ so in total the ps4 would actually cost less than 300 bucks and it's a lot of money to be saved.
