Aww this was such a cosy vlog! I live right across the bridge in Malmö. And actually it's not just the Copenhageners, but Scandinavians/Nordics in general that don't usually wear bright colours. It might have something to do with the culture of not drawing too much attention to oneself, blending in. But in lieu of colours, silhouettes tend to be quite considered and experimental! I was surprised that you struggled with food! Copenhagen has a thriving food scene and is very vegan/vegetarian friendly, it's unfortunate you didn't get to experience that. And as for the transport app, each region/county in Scandinavia has its own app, and they are absolute lifesavers when travelling! Also that AirBnB was in a very trendy area of Copenhagen, and is a typical Scandi-aesthetic apartment! All the three Scandinavian countries have their own kroner, and Norway is by far the most expensive country of the three! It's always so fun to watch others experience the places you live around and love! Hopefully you get to experience Sweden and Norway too!

Aww thank you. Glad you liked the vlog 📷 I love the Scandinavian/Nordic style, its so chic and elegant, very difficult from my own. Yes we enjoyed our Airbnb and the area. So cool and vibrant with great links to the city. Sad we didn't get to visit Sweeden or Norway, perhaps next time 😊 Thanks for all the tips and information, you're so kind 😊

Glad you liked it :). If you return one day, you can try visiting "Kastellet" - an old fortress in the Østerport section of the city. Other places to mention are "Kartoffelrækkerne"; Christiania; The Copenhagen Lakes (especially breakfast near the Lakes); Frederiksberg Have; Amager Strand (if sunny), and a few others probably..

CPH is a fashion CIty. We´re not looking at what you wear, but your colors! Yes Denmark is dark most of the year! We mostly wear Dark, gray and beige colors. Not saying it´s good, but we´re humble folks (the Law of Jante) . Lots of us actually do wear colors 😀 Apart from that.., really good Vlog 😍 !

Correction....Tivoli Gardens is not the oldest theme park in Europe. It's actually the 3rd oldest. The oldest (in the world) is just north of Copenhagen and is called Bakken. Again, calling it a theme park may be slightly misleading. It's an amusement park. It was never really developed to a specific theme such as Disneyland etc.
@thebigcj Жыл бұрын
Oh cool! Thanks for letting us know. That's so interesting 😄😄
@TheChiefEng Жыл бұрын
@@thebigcj A little silly history. The small lake in Tivoli is actually a remnant from the moat that surrounded Copenhagen up to the mid 1850s. Back then, Tivoli was approximately half the size it has now. Where the big boulevard is situated between Tivoli and City Hall was where the main part of the moat was located with bastions raised above the area where Tivoli was founded in 1843. It's a little strange to imagine but back then there were 4 gated ways into Copenhagen. Those gates were only open from 6am to 6pm back then. There is a lot of history in Copenhagen if you know what to look for. The reason there are only few buildings left in the medieval part of Copenhagen from before 1728 is because part of the medieval city burned down in 1728, another part burned down in 1795 and finally the English bombed Copenhagen from the sea in 1807.

Wow!!! Amazing 👏 You've certainly educated us. Copenhagen keeps on giving !! Thank you for this info 😄

@@TheChiefEngActually Tivoli is the 2nd oldest amusement park in the world with Bakken in Klampenborg taking spot number 1 😊

Danes use boring colors but though my family always has been very colorful I have never noticed people stare. My daughter is not only colorful but also has her own style and hair and people will tell her they like something she wears and they tell me she is beautiful so people looking at you may not be for a bad reason. I know I always tell people if I admire something they wear but some will just think it I guess. Hope you come again and I loved your colors and wish I could buy that here.

As a tourist I can understand the allure of taking a day trip to Malmø, Sweden. But if you are a few days in Cph and you're wasting a day away in Malmø ... I mean that's crazy! 😉And even if you have more time - the time will be better spent in Cph!

Yes, we were so tempted to cross the bridge and visit Malmø. Perhaps next time! Sweeden is on our travel bucket list 😁 Plenty to see and do in Copenhagen anyways.

Danish comment the most on vlogs of their country. That said I totally agree with you Scandinavians don't wear bright colors however the Danes are very stylish. I felt very out fashioned in Copenhagen.
