You should talk about how they're trying to stop people from being able to repair them. Including independent car shops. And how they're building their batteries into their frames so when your battery dies, so does your car.

you should learn teslas always have made their batteries removable, most can go 350,000 miles before needing replacement. if you think tesla is proprietary welcome to capitalism 101 or did you think they should look out for other company's interests before theirs? i'm sure tesla doesn't want people taking their cars to someone who will likely scam them as mechanics are famous for doing.

I just saw a Tesla today, so I found this video. You should talk about how it's crash detection system works. Also you're so well spoken for 15, oh my goodness. You'd be like the perfect friend at my school 😂

Nice video. Your old enough to learn how to drive (that's what I guessed from the description and your driving skills). I could only get my license when I was 18.

Man am I envious! What's the driving age in Florida? Here, you can't get a full licence until you are 18...
@ScienceC7 жыл бұрын
Well at 15 (me) you can drive with an adult and at 16 you can get your full license
@ojtheaviator17957 жыл бұрын
Huh, I guess NJ is just stricter then usual. I think here it's 16 for driving with an adult, 17 for just family, and 18 for full.

actually in cars with combustion engines the motor can overrev if you go past the redline which can cause valve float. that means the valves might stay open when they aren't supposed to be. If the engine is something called an interference engine, the valves can hit the piston and cause damage to both the valves and the piston itself. This can also cause so much damage that the engine block fragments. The real reason why cars with combustion engines have different gears is due to combustion engines having a torque/power curve. when the engine is at lower rpms, it doesn't output as much power or torque as it would at higher rpms. Combustion engine transmissions commonly use 5 or more gears to have good acceleration, but also have the ability to keep low rpms on the freeway to save fuel. Electric motors don't vary much in torque or power at different rpms, so they can use a single gear and not need to worry about stalling out or using more fuel. On a side note: Did you try the Ludicrous mode?

Harkin Labs Gaming okay but to be fair to the kid that can all be summarized as combustion engines have a low range of speeds that they can operate in

ScienceC yeah, its nice. The camera angle made it look more cramped than a 911. Anyways good luck with the maintenance. There is a known problem with either the timing or a bearing on older 911s I believe. You shouldn't need to worry about that because it gives lots of warning signs before then like rattling and scraping noises.

Nicely done video, as always. Very good explanation while not going super technical. While in the standard car, where you not wearing shoes? Also, did you get your full license? If so, congrats man! :D How did you get the opportunity to drive a Tesla?
@ScienceC7 жыл бұрын
The car wasn't moving in that shot so I don't believe I had shoes on. I don't have my full license yet so I still need an adult in the cat. And the Tesla was a freind of a freinds car. Finally thank you so much!

Wouldn't electric cars have a higher range if they had gears, as they could go faster with the same power consumption?
@ScienceC7 жыл бұрын
Well the electric motors are efficient at most speeds so it’s not really worth the extra weight and complexity
@tcprogramer1236 жыл бұрын
Electric motors use more power when they spin faster. I am not sure why electric vehicles don't have a cvt or some transmission to allow the motors to spin slower, yet to propel the car at a fast speed.
@JosephSamsor6 жыл бұрын
Theodore Cretu I believe the Prius does use a cvt transmission in conjunction with the electric motor they have. The issue I see is that with one of those, you loose torque, and they suck at holding power. Tesla’s are extremely powerful and would probably destroy one very quickly. I believe it also makes the drivetrain more complex, especially for awd. This is probably why they just use a dual motor for awd. No transfer cases, to drive shafts that go to differentials or etc. A simple motor with the single gear trans.

You talk about number of teeth as the deciding factor of gear ratios but I think as a general overview it'd be better to use gear diameter. Still a great video though keep up the good work 👍
