He may have been preparing them for the Sith's return. I remember in another video that you said that Dooku was one of the rare Jedi that didn't believe the Sith were totally destroyed, and that mentality may have influenced how he trained his Padawans.

If Dooku were a little more wise he would have spared his most gifted students, faked their deaths, and hid them for the right moment. Imagine the Count with his own private army of dark force users taking out Palps before he would suspect it.

Dooku is probably the best when it comes to dueling and his passion for his mission makes him patient with those who want to follow him. Sideous on the other hand doesn't really care so long as his master plan moves forward. Infact, sideous couldn't care less for light saber combat and prefers to learn more about force abilities.

As uncommon as it may be, its not surprising cases with apprentices like Komari would come up from time to time where an apprentice develops an unhealthy attachment to their masters. Normal attachments are risky enough to the jedi mindset of the time, so something like that is even worse. Sadly instead of treating it like the case of misguided teenage infatuation it was and guiding her in dealing with it, the jedi just tossed her out the same way the toss out any jedi who slightly inconveniences their order's stability. I guess in a way Komari is one of Dooku's most personal failures and also represents another way in how the jedi teachings failed both him and also Komari.

Dooku was always driven by idealism. It's part of the reason he was a real threat to Palpy. He was the most dangerous of beings: a true believer. I believe if he had been left to his own devices, Dooku would have challenged palps' rule of the galaxy, or at the very least found a way to subvert it and continue his mission to make the galaxy a better place as he envisioned. Let us not forget that, while he became a truly evil bastard, his whole arc revolves around his desire to truly make things better.

You're definitely right he would have overthrown Palpatine - that's almost exactly the offer he made to Obi-wan on Geonosis.
@InfiniteNaos
@InfiniteNaos 10 ай бұрын
That’s the key to Sidious being concerned about Dooku’s apprentices. The training either in the Light and especially the Dark is what brings out the concern. Ancient Sith were only trained just enough to be strong, but not enough to overthrow their master. Modern Sith had to go through trial by combat and the phase “one to embody power, the other to crave it.” Dooku was a strict teacher, similar to Anakin, he iron out as many flaws as possible to make their apprentices strong and in a way took pride in making strong allies. Just think how much more powerful Savage would’ve been if he had more time to be ironed out. Dooku would’ve been an excellent teacher for Anakin if he stayed after Qui-Gon’s passing and be that father figure that he never had. Later on, Anakin and Obiwan could’ve been true brothers as in a way Dooku was a grand parent to both.

I like dooku he was quite something special In a number different ways. His ideology seemed along the right lines and i would have liked to have seen him continue through the path he had in mind. He was intelligent, skillful and not a complete madman like most of the darkside followers or lords. Would like to see more on his story arc, which will probably happen. I think alot of people like and have a soft spot for him, and the take on jedi tales was good for a bit more insight to his life before the movies, that the movies and the animations are all I've got an interest in and i know ive probably missed a good bit more about him in books etc , but more of him and his story before he defected would make alot of people happy. I certainly would be and would watch it instantly

I believe that Sidious was threatened because Dooku's Apprentices had all been trained in more than just the light side of the Force. Dooku trained them to be more free thinking, as you said, and that also meant being able to break free from the indoctrination of the Jedi ways. Qui Gon was the only one that really never touched into the Dark Side, but he followed the Will of the Force, NOT the Jedi's service of the Senate. It can almost be said that Qui Gon Jinn wasn't even a Jedi, but a servant of the Force that aligned with the light.

This is why Legends cannot be discarded to it's own story arc, separate from canon. Legends is secondary canon or continuous canon. It was always canon, and I still consider it canon along with G canon. You'll never know how Ventress got her lightsabers until you explore Star Wars Legends.
@АлексейМомот-щ7о

Tbh, canon just likes to ignore details like this and simplify stories into boring mush. She probably just made her lightsabers in canon.
@BlueSniper-nv2tx
@BlueSniper-nv2tx 10 ай бұрын
@@АлексейМомот-щ7о I understand and respect what you are saying. But in canon, as well as Legends, Ventress has a green single bladed lightsaber. The curved lightsaber hilts were created by Komari Vosa. These sabers were "GIVEN", to Ventress, she never CONSTRUCTED them herself. I'm sure you already know this. It just frustrates me that TCW ignored Legends and separates it away from g canon. G canon as well as Legends completes the whole story of Star wars. TCW is just Dave Filoni creating his own version of Star Wars. TCW is just retconned Canon or Altered Canon. Thanks for your comment my friend.
@АлексейМомот-щ7о
@АлексейМомот-щ7о 10 ай бұрын
@@BlueSniper-nv2tx I agree with you about Legends being better. I'm just saying after the reboot we can't just assume Legends things are still valid explanations for the reboot continuity. Like, we know Ventress gave Anakin a scar, but TCW show makes it impossible for it to be the same story as Republic comic by moving the timeline of Anakin's knighting.
@АлексейМомот-щ7о
@АлексейМомот-щ7о 10 ай бұрын
The fact that canon likes to provide no explanations either makes it considerate, because they don't want to overwrite a Legends explanation, or maybe they're just being lazy. We still don't know how Anakin got a scar and how Bothans look in Disney canon a whole 10 years in the reboot, it's ridiculous.

the Expanded Universe needed more context on the time between The Phantom Menace and Attack Of The Clones than we got in the comics. that Dark Horse run was excellent but there were many side characters like Komari that should have gotten more focus. perhaps in the future, if the EU is ever reinstated as a separate timeline, those stories can be told.
