Hi, I have been checking out your videos for awhile and always find them interesting and informative. I found this particular video timely in that I am currently working on a picture with six cats. It is the largest project I have undertaken. I had a sketch book from my youth (late 60s early 70s). It was filled with cartoon characters and a couple caricatures. I forgot about it but when my daughter found it a few years ago, she thought I should start drawing again. So, with a bit of prodding and the gift of a mechanical pencil and sketch book) I started drawing again. My overall project has been to draw all the cartoon characters I remember from my youth (1950s and 1960s) which included a lot of cats (felix, jinx, Tom (Tom & Jerry), Top Cat, etc. I think I have drawn a couple hundred over the past few years. Gradually I went from portraiture to two characters per drawing with the most at four making the drawing more of a scene or a frame as in a comic book. My current project is six cats (Top Cat and all his buddies). I see your point about similarities from drawing multiple pictures of the same thing. I have found my speed has increased, over time, in drawing things like paws for animals, fingers, shoes and so forth. The most difficult type of drawing I have found is - what I call (since I don't know the technical term) implied framework. Charles Schultz, among others, used it. Basically it is drawing the patters within the object which then suggest the object (ie. Charlie Brown's sister's dress is implied using the patters on the dress rather than actual lines. I've done a couple but they are very difficult. I tried Gigantor (one of my wife's favorites) but had to scrap it as it was completely wrong and out of perspective. I will make another stab at it at some point when I am feeling brave. Thanks for all your videos and keep them coming.

Hi there! I'm planning a sketchbook of just one cat drawing a day for a month. I have a cat but she's not much in staying put for a drawing session; unless I can catch her napping. So I'm going to have to rely on photos from the internet. 😀

Maybe she needs payment in the form of treats to work as your model😸!
