Why Dreamcatcher siyeon is my favouritte vocalist in kpop (vocal guide) 2021

Honestly, the only reason people claim she’s not a great vocalist is because of her lack of support, but I think her lack of support has to do with her vocal style. Rock vocals are very different from classical or pop vocals because they normally require a little bit of strain to give the voice more emotion. A lot of technically amazing singers lack that feeling and subsequently disinterest me.

You are completely right. Band vocalists and Kpop(classical trained) vocalists are completely different. Band vocalists are about style and less about technique

You can also tell from her vibrato, pitch accuracy, usage of advanced techniques like vocal fry, and ability to change her vocal style that she is extremely well trained. And actually, sometimes live at concerts, she slips into support on more ballad type songs and will correct it to switch back to her rock styled vocals. She also is the one who taught Yoohyeon to sing, and Yoohyeon does use support, and that is why they are given very different parts in songs.

Ofc the technique people will have something to say😂😂😂 cause they only have knowledge of 1 techniques while there are actually a lot a technique to singing and specific techniques to specific genre of music as well. End of the day Siyeon does what no one else do that is have her own style and artistic form which actually attract more people, if she does generic western classical technique trust me she won't actually get this type of recognition cause everyone else does it and it is boring and doesn't add much layers and texture to the overall performance

Siyeon is a powerhouse of a vocalist. The way she can shift from soft singing, to high notes, to deeper melodies is really impressive. All while doing intense choreography. 👏

I think what makes her so great is that she really enjoys what she does. At any given time if she's singing a happy song and isn't trying to convey a negative emotion, she looks absolutely ecstatic that this is her job. It leads her to practice and perfect and give 110% every day to her craft. There are a lot of people with a lot of dedication out there, but I've very rarely seen anyone with as much legitimate pure delight in their singing as our Singnie. Combine that with tons of natural talent and a really unique timbre, and you have a god-tier singer.

yes it defidently shows how mutch she enjoys it, and after mix failed she probebly thought her career could be over then to the rising "succes" of dreamcather over a long time i think she appreciates it more than many others. it also helps that dcc seem to treat them very good for kpop company standard and a good work envorment helps making them enjoy the job way more

siyeon vocals are really strong, its even louder than sua and gahyeon. they probably set her mic lower volume. she has to move far away from mic when she do a strong high note. and what's scary is that she able to do a really quiete vocals. which are even harder than strong vocals. her vocal control are amazing

It honestly pains me when people say Siyeon is an "overrated" and "overhyped" main vocalist. They talk about technique and straining but at least Siyeon sings live when almost all your faves lipsync lmao. To me straining is not always a bad thing, straining adds another level of emotion to a song, it adds depth and projects the aura/feelings radiating from that song and that's why Siyeon was appointed as Main Vocalist because her way of singing brings out what dreamcatcher envisions. Being a "good vocalist" is not about whether you can hit high notes or not, sure supporting your vocals/breathing is an important factor but you need that SOUL in your music to hit your audience and that is why people who only think high notes are what makes a vocalist in general are clowns. TLDR, stan dreamcatcher, stan talent.

I am going straight to the blood opinion. I have been trying to say this for along time. Nowadays singer I find is rare to see them sing the essence (feeling) of the song cause the song is not written by them. They are singing to just hitting the high note. I am like "good for you for the high note". Some sound great but most sound like yelling which is bad. High note can be very irritating. A good song no need high note. High note is just a enhancer but also can be a destroyer.

@@InsomniBlink Also don't underestimate Wheein. I'm no expert but a vocal coach once analysed them and noticed Wheein was a technically better belter. Slightly more contained, healthier but also less noticeable. I love that Solar loves to be loud, and slightly overdoing a belt makes it more of a show. Hwasa has a nice sultry voice and is good in some techniques (vocal fry? singing a bit hoarse). I love it all have their vocal niche in their groups. I think in DC Yoohyeon and SuA are very versatile, JiU is especially good on bridge parts, etc. The most noticeable are the belting parts, probably the hardest to do well, not sure. But having power, emotion and being versatile makes for the best singers. 🥰

@@teambellavsteamalice i personally like siyeon and solars vocal tones the most but everyone in mamamoo and dreamcatcher is incredible vocalist in their prefered style. i dont know enough about vocal techniqe to say anything about who is better but that dosent really matter to me all i know is all of them sounds really good in different ways it would be boring if everyone had the same style.
