Why Eagle's New Envy Is WAY More Than Just Another New Disc...

I’m gonna say Conrad will be the biggest MVP signing no matter what because I don’t think that Simon or Eagle happens if not for the envy explosion after the holy shot. Just my take though, and eagle has only been signed for what, a month?

Thats a great point, Conrad might be the catalyst and could therefore be argued as the most important, but I think even with the Holy Shot, without Simon and Eagle, MVP stays middle tier...

I passed on buying one because I have 2 already. A Proton one given to me by Garry Patton, and and Eclipse 2 one I bought for glow rounds. I will say this - it's noticeably different from those 2 versions - as they are from each other, so I could see getting it one day if I want more variety. But it's a beautiful disc and if I didn't have one already - I'd definitely buy it. It's the most attractive Envy I've ever seen.

I could have bought one of these today, my local disc golf shop had a stack of them. I passed on it though. I already have an envy, and it isn’t as good a disc as the hype machine would have you think. They do have some cool color combos with this disc though.

It's a great disc. I only took it outta the bag because I started throwing a stock hyzer instead of flat.

So, in conclusion, it is actually just another new disc. So much so, in fact, that the most exciting thing there is to say about it, is the name they put on it. Gotcha.

The idea was to say that the disc represents something much larger than “just another new disc” that it represents a huge shift in the balance of power between manufacturers in the consumer space. But maybe I didn’t communicate that well enough

I think I agree, Eagle and Simon provide two different kinds of value in the way they “sell” for a brand, which is why they make such an incredible duo for sponsors. Only time will tell I suppose. But I do think there’s a chance this Eagle deal turns out to be the bigger of the two when we look back in 10 years
